Cultural experience in Vietnam - What's better than getting a tour from a local guide who's hometown is the incense village!? He knows the how, what, where and why's. The hidden gems and the tales that have been passed down by generations. HUY is an absolute treat when going on this tour because he's not your ordinary tour guide! He shares facts about Vietnam, doesn't rush you (like most tours do) and keeps the tour interesting with his story telling. We were a small group (3 people) that started the tour from the Laquer Art center, learning about the artisan history of Laquer art. Moved to the Vietnamese hat (souvenir) making workshop, immersed in the process of incense making (you don't get to keep the incense, just an experience) and end the tour at incense village for photo ops. The driver picked me up on time, as promised. HUY kept us entertained through the long ride (plus, speaks good English), and the tour was perfect for someone like me who enjoys the crafty side of things. Would recommend if you're looking for a half-day cultural tour in Hanoi and save yourself the hassle of going to far destinations by yourself. Note, there isn't an allotted time for lunch on this particular tour. I would recommend carrying some snacks (just incase you didn't have breakfast) with you as the morning tour ends just in-time for lunch.

Wonderful trip! - The trip is amazing! We availed the half day tour and really enjoyed it! Our tour guide HUY is very kind, thoughtful and funny. He has a lot of stories to tell. He also took good care of us and took super nice photos! He also lent a jacket to my boyfriend because he is very cold. How sweet! Our experience with the trip is truly unforgettable! We will be back soon with family and friends!

Good experience - The trip started from the "hat village" until the incense factory and it finished in a incense stand where to make a lot of photos. Everything was interesting and the kind guide explained it well and with smiles.

Worth a visit! - Gene was a fantastic guide, very fluent in English and chirpy, with a charming nature and very helpful. The incense village was beautiful for pictures and to support the local community. The hat making was also fascinating. Gene did a good job of explaining the process and making it interesting. Would definitely recommend. Only point to note is that train street is a drop off point, not part of the tour.

Great experience. Beware no train station tour - Gene was our guide. She was pleasant and helpful. She was knowledgeable and spoke fluent English. We made our first stop at the incense village. She explained the different stages of making the incense stick. It was a great experience and we had enough time to take beautiful pictures at the colourful garden of incense sticks. The hat making experience was also great insight into the life of Vietnamese and she explained the nuances in creating a single hat. It was very interesting. The ride back was comfortable. Gene was a great host. Train street tour is not included as mentioned. It is only a drop off.
