Great safaris, great guides! - Great experience!! We did 3 safaris with Thivein!! Safari 1: Full day on blocks 5 and 6, no bear or leopard seen that day, but beautiful parks, lots of herds, axis deer mix with buffaloes, monkeys, peacocks... we also saw crocodiles, elephants .. Safari 2: Full day in block 1, with Sanka, very good guide, we saw several leopards and all the other animals. Safari 3: half day in block 1, still several leopards, a golden jackal and all the other animals, bad luck for the bear, it will be for next time The guides are very professional, they track animals by observing the tracks and behavior of other animals. The jeeps are comfortable. Far more advantageous rates than those offered by my guest house. I recommend 100%

Well-Organized and Memorable Adventure - From the moment we were picked up until the end of the safari, everything ran smoothly. The entire experience was very well organized, with great attention to timing and detail. There were no delays, and the staff ensured we had water, breaks, and information throughout the tour. We never felt rushed and had enough time to enjoy each sighting. It’s clear this team takes pride in offering a top-quality safari experience.

Highly Recommended Safari Tour - This safari is a must-do in Sri Lanka! Whether you're an animal lover, photographer, or just someone who wants an unforgettable nature experience, this tour is for you. Everything—from the professionalism of the staff to the beauty of Yala—was perfect. We would absolutely recommend this to friends, family, and anyone visiting the island. We left with amazing memories, fantastic photos, and a deep appreciation for Sri Lanka’s natural beauty.

Great experience with a seaming less process from beginning to drop off - Tour started at the cruise port with a pickup. We met the tour guide and driver and only had to wait a few minutes before we started. The truck had 6 seats all outside and the drive to the park was about 1,5h. Park entrance of (35$) not included. We got water and juice, there was a stop for food at the park.

Interesting tour, but much too long. And no leopards. - Good tour to Yala National Park. We enjoyed the ride in the 4x4, which made for an authentic experience, but we didn't see any leopards. Only a few elephants, some mongoose, jackals, water buffalo, peacocks, pelicans, a flamingo and some other water birds. We saw all the animals we were going to see in 90 minutes. The rest of the time, we were just wandering around on very bumpy roads in sweltering heat looking for leopards. The tour should have been for 4 -- not 6 -- hours (1 hour each way from the port plus 2 hours in the park). Also, the guide should have told us there would be no restroom break after the ticket booth. Some of us didn't go thinking there would be a stop later and there was not. We were very uncomfortable by the time we finally got back out and could use the restroom at the park entrance.

Exclusive Safari Feel - Despite Yala’s popularity, our guide knew exactly how to avoid the crowds. We often had entire stretches of the park to ourselves, enjoying private moments with nature. Watching a family of elephants bathe in a secluded lake, with no one else around, was pure magic. The experience felt intimate and special, not like a mass tour. It made our safari feel truly luxurious and exclusive.

Leopard spectacle - Visiting Yala National Park was a dream come true, especially because of the incredible leopard sightings! Our guide expertly followed two different leopards for us – one resting comfortably on a branch, the other creeping gracefully across the open field. Watching these powerful yet elegant animals up close in their natural habitat was absolutely fascinating. The guide made sure we kept a respectful distance and still had fantastic views. If you love big cats, Yala is the ultimate destination!

Bumpy, hot and not many animals - Not the fault of the tour operator, but we saw few animals and certainly no leopards which probable would only be seen very early morning. The park road was crowded with safari vehicles all trying to overtake on a very narrow and very bumpy road. Our guide tried hard to find the animals but besides a few elephants, a couple of mongooses and a jackal that was our lot. Our guide drove well unlike many of the other drivers on the road who drove like maniacs. Our vehicle was not 4WD as promised which meant that certain roads could not be accessed. Also there were no binoculars provided as promised in the description of the tour.

Day trip from cruise ship - Unless you are there at sunrise or sunset you are not going to see a huge array of animals. Probably will encounter a few elephants, buffalo, deer and a few smaller ones and birds. The roads when you get into the park are atrocious so you are being thrown everywhere and the driver has to concentrate so is not looking for animals. There are too many vehicles in the park so when there is a sighting there is a huge congestion and few get to see anything.
