*Martello Tower - Dry Zone Botanic Gardens - Hambantota - Mirijjawila Dry Zone Botanic Gardens (MDBG) are the first botanic gardens in Sri Lanka designed by local experts and the first to be established after Henarathgoda Botanic Gardens, which was founded 130 years ago. The Dry Zone Botanic Gardens is the largest in Sri Lanka, covering 300 acres, and is dedicated to the conservation of dry zone plants ex-situ. Several objectives were set for its establishment.
