• Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Ancient Fortress: The rock towers 200 meters above the surrounding jungle and was once the location of a royal palace built by King Kashyapa in the 5th century. Visitors can explore the remains of the fortress.

Lion’s Gate: The main entrance to the fortress is marked by a massive lion’s paw, which gives Sigiriya its name (“Lion’s Rock”).
