Shore Excursion: Spectacular Seascape of Limestone Pillars at Uninhabited Ha Long Bay

Ha Long Bay, in the Gulf of Tonkin, includes some 1,600 islands and islets, forming a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars. Because of their precipitous nature, most of the islands are uninhabited and unaffected by a human presence. The site’s outstanding scenic beauty is complemented by its great biological interest.

A Wonderful Day on Halong Bay - Such a fun day on a junk boat! Our tour guide, Sonny, contacted us the day before our tour with instructions, met us promptly at the pier and was very knowledgeable about Halong Bay. We learned so much visiting the oyster farm, Sun Sot cave was beautiful, we kayaked in the lagoon, and visited Tip Top Beach which was lovely. A large lunch was served on the boat that the seafood lovers enjoyed (luckily we brought our own sandwiches). We throughly enjoyed our day on the water with Sonny.

Awesome - It’s a most tranquil and peaceful cruise of this extraordinary and scenic bay. The cave is off the charts - truly awesome! Guide (Son) was extremely knowledgeable and crew very friendly.

Fantastic trip - Fantastic trip with a lovely guide. She was very helpful and enthusiastic. Great scenery while sailing with a visit to an amazing cave. The crew of the boat were also perfect and provided a very nice meal. Excellent service by everybody.

Great scenery! Good price... - Great scenery! Good price which includes bamboo boating, and exploration of huge cave. Is a must go to the top of hill on Tip Top Island where you can see the panoramic view of Ha Long Bay!

Simon and Duncans boat trip - Fantastic trip, shame it was a bit cloudy. Our tour guide David was great. The buffet lunch was lovely and lots of choice. All in all a great day, and good value for money, well worth it!

Good value, but very busy with other tourists in some locations like the Ti Top Pegoda - Very interesting full day tour of Halong Bay, the caves, pearl farm, bamboo boat tour and Ti Top pegado Overall good value, but it is amazing how many other tours there are at the same time, all trying to get to the same locations

Good, not spectacular - February - Day was hazy, so views weren’t as spectacular. Tour guide did good job; very friendly. Lunch was ‘OK’. Overall, happy, though could have left out the on-board marketing of jewelry, wood, cloth, etc

it was a good 4hrs... - it was a good 4hrs shame we couldnt canoe into the caves due to the tides it was also very foggy so the sites werent as pretty as they could have been - this is normal between Oct and March so bear in mind the team looked after us and had drinks, snacks and gifts available on board much cheaper than cruise ship experience offered

Best done in low season - Lovely trip and glad it was in the low season as lots of boats around. Started badly as guide walked off and left everyone in the terminal building for some time so we boarded late. Staff on the boat were great and boat itself lovely. Wasn't a 'cruise' as advertised as the boat moored up in one place and then we were all tendered to each different location on a small uncomfortable boat. Despite earlier problems the guide was very helpful, polite and informative on the trip. Would have like a bit more time in the last location as it turned out to be a quick frog match to the top of the hill for photos and back to the boat or 30 minutes 'relaxing' on the beach.
