Fantastic Cruise - Everything about this cruise has been amazing.
From originally booking, to check in, to cruising was incredibly easy.
Mr Leon organised everything for us with taxis and keeping us informed at all points
Dee and all the crew were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
We didn’t want our cruise to end.
I must mention the food. What a chef! I have travelled the world and I can honestly say his food is some of the best I have ever had.
Thank you Le Journey Elegance your cruise for a fabulous experience!

Amazing experience. Our guide, Peter, was the best!! - Amazing, one of a kind scenery/experience. Our guide, Peter, was the best. Very charming and funny, great English and a lot of fun. I will always remember him whenever I think back on Ha Long bay. Kayaking and cave exploring was great. Loved the swim in the “beach.” Food was yummy!

A pleasant cruise and a unique landscape - Small boat, about fifteen cabins. Perfect for us. Our cabins were very nice, spacious and comfortable. The furnishings and decoration are wooden, with a balcony allowing you to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lan Ha Bay. In this season the weather is cool, and the sky often cloudy. But it remains very pleasant. We did not participate in the very early morning activities of the second day, preferring to stay in the room to enjoy the last moments.
The crew is very attentive, led by the Cruise Manager, Ben, efficient and very cordial.

Wonderful trip through Halong Bay - We have been staying on this boat my family and I in two cabins with balcony on the second floor.
We contracted directly with the operator 3 days/2 nights, throughout the trip Mr.Leon has been aware of everything and solvent if any doubt that arose. The excursion of the second day was very fun and the Guide that accompanied us, exceptional.
The food pretty good and enough quantity. We being two nights, had the deference of preparing different dishes for lunch and dinner. The staff, as in the rest of the country, very friendly and always willing to help you in everything. Note that drinks are not included in the price.
The cabin is not like the one shown in the picture, the boat must be a few years old and it was noticeable, but in general it is very good. The deck area has a jacuzzi, not very large but enough to refresh you.
Every night they offered karaoke or squid fishing. Thank the whole team for their excellent work and willingness. The experience has been very good. I recommend it if you are visiting Halong Bay.

An honest review and would not do again - An honest review of a bad trip. My wife and I are returning from the 3 day 2 night “5* luxury cruise” around ha long bay. It started poorly when we were advised after a long day travelling to get to Hanoi for our pick up, that we would need to be up an hour early due to traffic. We saw no abnormal traffic. The transfer takes 5 hours from Hanoi to the port not the 2.5 we were told, and then once there you have to wait another hour to get on a tender to get to the boat. This tender doesn’t go to the boats in the harbour as expected you travel for over 30 mins out into the islands to get on board the main boat. You are taken aboard and the staff provide a limited buffet of food for your first lunch. After an hour of sitting there with your carry bags I (as lots of people did) wanted to get into our cabin to unpack and relax to which you are told no you have to wait, which is frustrating after 7 hours of travelling. Our room was well laid out and a good size with a very comfortable bed, however that’s where the positives ended. The bedding had blood stains and what I assume were tea marks on it, that shower was covered in black mould, the sink tap wasn’t bolted down and the sink and counter were still covered in tooth paste, the fridge had mould in it, and the desk had a white plastic doilie sort of thing on it which was also covered in tea and mould. I went to speak to the reception on board and he came to the room said sorry and shrugged his shoulders. Only after I asked him to change the bedding did he get some people in from housekeeping to sort some of the issues. I can understand things being dated but the minimum expectation is that the room be clean.
The boat is run on a daily clock with notifications coming over a loud speaker in every room 15 minutes and then 5 minutes before anything happens. Meals are provided on their time schedule some days you have lunch at 11.15 if you are out on a tour when you have only had breakfast 3-4 hours before. The only time to have dinner is 7pm so not the freedom to enjoy yourself and eat at your own time on your vacation which is not good. Also every meal for some reason had to be 5 courses which is really not required.
The activities you do are also a let down, the first days swim and kayaking was an eye opener. The company has three boats which all do the same things at the same time and are run on the same schedule so each place you go to has no one and then there are not enough for everyone. People on our boat missed out on doing kayaks because there was not enough and the swimming they advertised is in scummy brown topped water with plastic bottles and bags all around, not the beauty we were hoping for. We did have a nice time at the traditional village in the national park on our second day but unless you do the 3d2n stay you won’t get to do this. This was a lovely time in the village and had tours of traditional huts, fish pedicures and snake wine tasting if you wanted. This was all done on a small group of 6 and was a great think to do.
Coming back from this day we realised something every day is the same. New guests onboard at one spot cruise for 30 mins to get to the overnight spot wake up and cruise 30 minutes back to the same pick up location to drop off and wait to collect the next. You only see two places and those places you are normally surrounded by about 40 other cruises. You would not believe how many boats there are, if you’re imagining a relaxing quiet trip it’s not either on the boat or off. Also whilst you are away on any activity or trip you hand your cabin key in at reception, this is so the person in reception can turn the power off to your room, so items in the fridge never get cold.
The staff try their best but when only one person spoke broken English when English was the only language used was tricky. They all seemed very young and a little out of their depth. With the staff my wife found it hard as they would only bother talking to me and ignore her which is not a good thing. We had to check out of our cabin at 9.30 on the morning of departure and go for a brunch aka sit you all in the dining room to make sure everyone settles up there bar bill. At 9.31 cabin doors were banged on telling you you need to check out, not very luxury. During the settling up of the bill we were produced with about 1,000,000 vnd of drinks that we had not had ( neither of us were drinking alcohol ). It took 4 attempts for the one English speaking man to try and sort this however in the end we still ended up being charged for water which is supposed to be included.
Overall I would say this was a real let down and in chatting to other couples on board they had a similar experience to ourselves and were glad to get back to land as we were. If you are set on doing one of these cruises I would pick a better one than this however you will still be in the same bays as these boats in the same brown scummy water with tons of rubbish floating in it.

Don’t go there - The worst place I have ever been to. The standard is not even 3*. The bathroom in the most expensive suite was dirty, stinky and disgusting. The room is old, everything is dirty and you feel mould everywhere. The food was tasteless and basic. Drinks very expensive. The staff acted in a very strange way, coming to us for the tips personally as the other tips are taken away from them. We paid 350 usd for one night and it was the worst spent money ever.
