Ha Giang Province - A tour guide will pick you up from your homestay or motel to begin the excursion through the Ha Giang karst plateau. You will visit:
- Km0 milestone in Ha Giang city.
- Bac Sum pass, the first pass entering the Dong Van Karst Plateau area.
- Quan Ba Sky Gate, where you can enjoy the view of Bosom Mountain and Tam Son Town from above.
- Lung Tam weaving village to explore brocade production stages (Note: This visit depends on weather and road conditions).

Dong Van - Noon: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit:

Quan Ba Heaven Gate - Quan Ba Heaven Gate is among Vietnam’s five most famous Heaven’s Gates, alongside Anh Giang Heaven Gate (Cao Bang), O Quy Ho Heaven Gate (Sapa), Linh Quy Phap An Heaven Gate (Da Lat), and Nghinh Phong Heaven Gate (Vung Tau). Located at the entrance to the Dong Van karst plateau, Quan Ba is a must-visit when in Ha Giang.
The road to Quan Ba Heaven Gate (Ha Giang) is a stunning route for backpackers. It is situated on National Road 4C, connecting Ha Giang city and Tam Son town. To reach Quan Ba Heaven Gate, travel 3km north from Tam Son or drive 46 km from Ha Giang city center, taking about 1 hour.
Viewpoint dốc Thẩm Mã (trên) - The Tham Ma Pass is a renowned s-shaped mountain pass in Ha Giang’s mountainous region. It is part of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark and is one of Vietnam’s most impressive mountain passes.
Historically, locals used the Tham Ma Pass to test their horses. They would take their horses up the pass with heavy loads to assess their strength. If a horse reached the top looking strong, it was kept; otherwise, it was used for Thang Co, a special dish found at every farmer’s market in Ha Giang, though it is not recommended to try it.
Pao’s House - This local family house in Dong Van District, Ha Giang Province, became a popular tourist spot after being featured in the film ‘Pao’s Story’. The film won the Golden Kite from the Vietnam Cinematography Association in 2005.
The nearly seventy-year-old building has housed four generations. Originally owned by Mua Sua Pao, after his and his son’s deaths in 1979 and 1980, his grandson, Mua Phai Tua, inherited the property.

08.00: Check out and continue the journey:

- Take photos with Mapileng canyon, 800 meters deep
- Yacht on Nho Que River and pass through Tu San Canyon (return bus and boat fee not included, $15/person)
Noon: Lunch in Dong Van town. After lunch, return to Ha Giang. Visit Lung Tam weaving village to explore brocade production stages.

Ma Pi Leng Pass - Ma Pi Leng Pass is a stunning mountain pass in Northern Vietnam, specifically in Ha Giang Province. Visiting Lung Tam village, visitors can experience the locals’ daily life. Hmong women diligently work with looms to create beautiful brocade and linen pieces from flax fibers. Weaving a fine brocade piece is a source of pride for Hmong women.
The main material for weaving is flax fibers, so all Hmong women have individual fields for growing flax plants. After harvesting, the flax plants are soaked in water to extract the fibers. Then the fibers are rolled and steamed to soften them. The locals use natural colors from forest leaves and wood to dye the fibers.
