Ha Giang Province - A tour guide will pick you up at your homestay or motel to begin the excursion to the Ha Giang karst plateau. You will visit:
✔ Km0 milestone in Ha Giang city.
✔ Bac Sum pass, the first pass as you enter the Dong Van Karst Plateau area.
✔ Next stop is Quan Ba Sky Gate. Enjoy the beauty of Bosom Mountain and the view of Tam Son Town from a higher vantage point.

Dong Van - Noon: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit:

Quan Ba Heaven Gate - Quan Ba Heaven Gate is one of the five most renowned Heaven’s Gates in Vietnam, alongside Anh Giang Heaven Gate (Cao Bang), O Quy Ho Heaven Gate (Sapa), Linh Quy Phap An Heaven Gate (Da Lat), and Nghinh Phong Heaven Gate (Vung Tau). Located at the entrance to the Dong Van karst plateau, Quan Ba is a must-visit destination when arriving in Ha Giang.
The road to Quan Ba Heaven Gate (Ha Giang) is a stunning route for backpackers. It is situated on National Road 4C, connecting Ha Giang city and Tam Son town. To reach Quan Ba Heaven Gate, from Tam Son, travel 3km north, or from Ha Giang city center, it takes about 1 hour to drive 46 km.
Viewpoint dốc Thẩm Mã (trên) - The Tham Ma Pass is a famous s-shaped mountain pass in Ha Giang’s mountainous region. It is part of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark and is one of Vietnam’s most impressive mountain passes.
In the past, locals used the Tham Ma Pass to test their horses. They would take their horses up the mountain pass with heavy loads to assess their strength. If a horse reached the top and appeared strong, they would keep it. Otherwise, the horse was used for Thang Co, a special dish available at every farmer’s market in Ha Giang; it is not recommended to try it.
Pao’s House - The house of a local family in Dong Van District, Ha Giang Province, has become a popular destination for visitors to the mountainous province after being featured in the film ‘Pao’s Story’. The film won the Golden Kite of Vietnam Cinematography Association in 2005.
The nearly seventy-year-old original building has housed four generations. It originally belonged to a man named Mua Sua Pao. After Pao and his son passed away in 1979 and 1980, his grandson, Mua Phai Tua, inherited the property.
Dinh Vua Meo - The Vuong family mansion, also known as the Meo King mansion, is an ancient mansion nearly 100 years old. It is one of the most unique tourist destinations in Ha Giang that visitors must see when exploring the Northwestern region.

Dong Van market is situated in Dong Van old town. From Ha Giang City, travel along Highway 4C, heading northeast for about 150km to reach Dong Van Market. It is the largest cultural and goods exchange hub in the Dong Van – Meo Vac rocky plateau. It is one of the typical markets for the ethnic minority communities in the North.
Ma Pi Leng Pass - Ma Pi Leng Pass is a stunning mountain pass in Northern Vietnam, specifically in Ha Giang Province. Lung Tam village - Lung Tam is renowned as a traditional craft village for brocade weaving by the Hmong on Dong Van plateau, Ha Giang province. Besides brocade products favored by both domestic and international visitors, the unique weaving process in Lung Tam village attracts visitors to Quan Ba district.
Visiting Lung Tam village, visitors can experience the daily life of the locals. Hmong women diligently work with looms to create beautiful brocade and linen pieces from flax fibers. Weaving a fine brocade piece is a source of pride for Hmong women.
The main material for weaving is flax fibers, so all Hmong women have individual fields for growing flax plants. After harvesting, the flax plants are soaked in water to extract the fibers. Then the fibers are rolled and steamed to make them softer. The locals use natural colors from forest leaves and wood to dye the fibers.
