Great - This is a great tour. Be prepared to walk a lot and the tour will conclude by 10 pm once you start in the morning at 9. Lee ( Jackie ) was our guide and the driver and he took great care of us. He is very professional, speaks good English and a very nice person. He explained very well and also help us take a lot of our pictures. The lunch was great too ( Lunch is not paid and you got to cover this). We also were taken to a show which was absolutely mesmerising and I must do in grilling. We were taken back to the hotel later in the evening and all that I can say is that it was a great day. Do it while in Guilin. Thank you, Lee.

Great experience - I really enjoyed visiting the Flute Cave and the bamboo boat tour in Guilin — both were beautiful experiences. The tour guide was very kind and informative, which made the trip even better. However, I didn’t enjoy the evening show as much; it was quite noisy with many people talking and moving around during the performance.

Amazing magical trip for the day - I think by far this was the best trip we booked in China! Jeff Liu was the best guide, he was very accommodating to our plans and helped us switch the show in the middle of the day (we opted for an earlier show but were going to be late so we shifted to the outdoor late show). He was knowledgeable and fun to be around during the whole trip, and helped us with the photos/videos, and even when buying stuff from the locals. Now the trip itself was magical! I would recommend doing all activities listed for the day because each part has it’s own form of magic. I would definitely recommend going for booking with Jeff, we didn’t want to leave towards the end! Such an amazing day.

An unforgettable day - Andy was amazing! He accompanied us throughout the day, guiding us even into the cave. He provided us with help when needed and was really nice. If we go back to Guilin, we'll definitely rely on him.

Not worthy the price - It took time to me to write this review. I booked based on previous reviews all talking about the amazing tour guide Andy. A person with a great knowledge of the place, willing to share and to tailor the experience based on your need. So even if the cost was absolutely out of price (you can organize for much lesser), I decided to book the tour with Andy. Moreover since I was with my 4 years old son, flexibility was important. But somene else than Andy came. Essentially Andy subcontracted this trip. Since it seems he is very busy he essentially subcontract a lot of trips to other people. This means that you could pay a lot of money and get what I got: a driver which will probably push you around forcing you in the schedule and instructions that Andy gave to him. Those have been the hilights of my trip: 1. the guide had instruction to collect double money for all entries for me and my son (around 70 euro each). Luckily I'm around China before two months so I knew my son (below 6 years and 120cm) don't pay in many places, but the tour guide was insisting I had to give him the money. Extremely disturbing. I didn't and of course I was right: my son only payed half price for the bamboo boath, free everywhere else. I point out here that I had to search for the evening show by myself (on Trip) because the driver was still insisting that my son had to pay full price. From my research I discovered that not only my son didn't pay, but my price was 10 euro less than what they asked to me. 2. When I told my son was below 120cm the tour guide insisted that my son couldn't do the bamboo tour. This is the best part of the trip. I got so so angry (as of course I informed Andy when I booked but he didn't tell me anything). In the end, of course, my son could do it, but again I had to fight for this too. Jointly with the money problem, this exausted me and, honestly, I lost the few trust left on Andy and his tour guide. 3. Contrary to what the previous reviews about Andy were saying, my driver (cannot call a tour guide) forced us to stay on truck with the things to do at the point he didn't even bring us at lunch: me and my son didn't have lunch (luckily I had 2 eggs I took at breakfast). He runned ahead forcing us to follow him even when I told him my son had to pooh. If someone is always 20 meters ahead either you don't pay attention to him and you do what you want, otherwise you cannot tell him anything. I had the impression this person was too much fixed on satisfying Andy requests on what we "had" to do than our requests or needs. 4. Of course no explanation at all, he just left us to go (after he bought the thicket). But this you can do by yourself and spare 60 euro per person :-D For all those reasons I cannot honestly recommand this tour. Moreover, personally, I found disturbing that Andy subcontracted this trip to someone paying him probably 1/5 of what I payed. When I wrote to Andy he said mine was last minute booking, but I checked availability!! So essentially in this trip availability is a joke: Andy accepts any guest since he just subcontracts to someone he knows. As for the trip itself, of course Xianggong hill and the boat tour are wonderful (main reason to come to Guilin), so it is a must do in Guilin. I just recommand you to do it either renting a car with a driver via a chinese tour operator (your hotel for sure will be able to point you at someone) or call a Didi and bargain to rent his car (and him as driver) for the all day.
