Arrival in Guilin and Elephant Trunk Hill

Guilin - Upon arrival in Guilin, the local guide will be waiting in the airport’s Arrival Hall, holding a welcome sign with the guest’s name. A comfortable drive will then transport them to their downtown hotel.

Elephant Trunk Hill (Xiangbishan) - After checking in and enjoying a refreshing break, guests will be escorted to Elephant Trunk Hill, a renowned landmark in Guilin. The hill resembles an elephant dipping its trunk into the water, showcasing nature’s incredible creativity.

Next, guests will visit East West Street, a historic street over 1,400 years old, featuring ancient buildings. In addition to a general tour, they will explore Xiaoyao Tower, originally a Tang Dynasty (618 – 907 AD) restaurant frequented by scholars who gathered to admire the views, compose poetry, or celebrate special occasions. Afterwards, guests will be driven back to their hotel.

Guilin - Longsheng - Guilin, Rice Terraces and Zhuang Minority Villages

Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces - Guests will enjoy a full-day tour of the Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces. In the morning, the guide and driver will pick them up from the hotel. The journey from Guilin to Longsheng takes approximately 2.5 hours, where they will visit the Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces. These stunning terraces span 66 km² (25.5 sq mi) with slopes exceeding 50°. The terraces wind from the base to the summit of Longji (Dragon’s Backbone) Mountain, situated at altitudes ranging from 300m (330yd) to 1,100m (1,202yd).

Surrounding the terraces are Zhuang minority villages, where villagers and their ancestors have lived and cultivated the land for centuries. Visitors can observe their unique stilt houses, traditional clothing, customs, and lifestyle.

At the end of the day, the guide will escort guests back to their hotel in Guilin.

Guilin - Yangshuo, Countryside Trip and Xianggong Hill

Li River - In the morning, the guide will lead guests on a cruise along the Li River, culminating in Yangshuo. This cruise reveals the essence of the Li River, with varying scenery depending on the weather. During the journey, guests can appreciate the famous Chinese poem describing the river as a green silk ribbon and the hills as jade hairpins, beautifully reflected in the water.

Yangshuo County - The Li River cruise typically lasts 3 to 4 hours, arriving in Yangshuo by early afternoon. Guests will then enjoy a leisurely countryside tour in Yangshuo, either by bike or private car, and visit a local villager’s home to experience rural life. As the visit may conclude late, guests will either bike or be driven back to downtown Yangshuo.
