Great tour and experience - Wonderful experience! Great variety of information directly from the owner. You have to try it. Cook, drink and eat different flavours.

So fun! - Amazing experience! Leo and his family are so cute and the coffee is good. Interesting experience, best empanadas ever! I'd highly recommend taking some time to hang out and sip some coffee and chocolate

Cheaper to book with the farm - The tour was authentic and Tio Leo provided a lot of information about coffee, history, and costa Rican culture. He has a shop that you can buy souvenirs. It would be helpful if they sold bug spray. I didn’t realize we would be walking through his farm, picking coffee berries and learning about all of the trees and herbs that he grows on his farm. He was friendly, it was interactive, and an enjoyable experience in the rain. The mosquitos are not so fun- so wear appropriate clothing.

Was beyond our expectations! - What an amazing surprise. We didn't really know what to expect but our visit to Tio Leo Coffee was way beyond those expectations! Everyone was generous with their time, their knowledge, and their stories. I would highly recommend stopping in and give yourself plenty of time as the tour is best savored, not rushed!

A Tour that exceeded expectations - It was such a special treat to be the only couple on the Tio Leo tour. It was a full afternoon of education, humor and good tastes. Beyond coffee, we enjoyed plantains and empanadas, plus chocolate and sugar cane drinks. The coffee scrub was a remarkable treat. What a fun, fun day which we highly recommend!!

A Must-Do Coffee & Culture Experience in Costa Rica - This was my second time taking the Tio Leo coffee tour, and it was just as wonderful as the first! Each visit feels like a mix of learning, tasting, and experiencing Costa Rican culture in such a genuine way.
Leo is such a knowledgeable guide—he brings the history of his farm, coffee, cacao, and sugar cane to life with stories and demonstrations. We even got to grind cacao beans ourselves, press sugar cane, and learn a bit about natural healing practices, which gave the tour such a unique touch.
Another highlight was Cindy, who makes soaps, skin creams, and other natural products. She is absolutely delightful! She was kind enough to invite me into her “lab” and even made a body lotion on the spot for me. I’ve bought her products on both of my visits because they’re truly high-quality, all-natural, and amazing for the skin.
If you’re looking for an authentic Costa Rican experience that combines history, culture, food, and incredible hospitality, this tour is a must. I’ll happily come back a third time! BOOK THE TOUR! You will NOT regret it.

Great experience - This experience was amazing!!!!! I was there for my birthday trip about 6 of us. The staff was awesome and soooo knowledgeable. Maria(staff) and I share the same birthday. The coffee as amazing, I am actually drinking some now as I write the review. The walk in the back coffee fields was unbelievable. Keep doing these tours and yes, it is well worth the money and time. So go you will enjoy it and learn something. I will be emailing you to order some coffee...

Great tour and friendly host and assistant - It was an excellent tour. Very detailed with lots of information. We learned how to make empanadas and how to grind cacao beans into powder. The end of the tour was a garden tour where we learned about the medicinal benefits of different plants and herbs.

More Than Just Coffee - While I myself am not a coffee lover, this tour was fantastic. You learn about the history of coffee and see the process along the way. In addition you learn about chocolate, the Costa Rican respect for the land, get to make your own empanada, and get to walk the land. Tio Leo himself is hilarious and helps to make for a fantastic experience. You get to ask questions along the way to cater to your own experience.
Star fruit, empanada, coffee, chocolate, farm, cooking class, educational, respect of land, organic farming, outside.
