Our Animal sanctuary in Costa Rica is known for its world-class habitat designs that address the needs of each species. The unique design of the habitats allows guests to view and learn about key aspects of biology, ecology and natural history of the animals. Great choice for a half day tour! - We chose this because we were looking for a half day tour to fit our needs. We were soo happy we booked it. We were able to see the native animals to Costa Rica. Park guides were very knowledgeable about the different animals. We were very grateful for their time they spent with us educating us on all the animals. Another great part was our driver Bryan Camareno. He was Top Notch!! He taught us soo much about Costa Rica on our round trip drive. Muchisimas Gracias Bryan!!!

A great way to spend an afternoon - The animal sanctuary was awesome. Besides being able to see the gorgeous animals, the grounds and habitats were extraordinary! Visually appealing and well designed. The keepers were friendly and very informative. It was a pleasure to spend an afternoon there.

Wonderful Experience! - We found this place at the last minute and went because we wanted to see the sloths. When we got there we were treated to not only the sloths (we saw them feed Lucy) but also the other animals they had. It was such a great experience. The grounds and habitats were clean and well maintained, the staff were all friendly and helpful. We wished we had allotted more time so we could take advantage of the other activities they offered - especially the zip lines. Will definitely return on our next trip to Costa Rica

Great half-day experience! - My family and I had a great time as we did the cultural experience tour and visited the animal sanctuary. We got to taste some raw, unprocessed chocolate and made some sugar cane juice by hand. It was wonderful! A highlight of the sanctuary was the sloth feeding which was pretty cool and the butterfly garden.

Rip off - My day got off to an unpleasant welcome at counter as for two kids plus myself and wife they charged 187 USD. While quoted at 45 per adult and 35 per kid they added ‘taxes’ above this. No explanation as to why? For example the 16USD per person (including kids) buffet was all inclusive of ‘taxes’. Bottom line is - it’s a nice park while in, but the road is total mess which will destroy so many cars. Then other part which annoyed me was the side ‘bar’ at buffet and asked for black coffee and bottle of water for which the barman happily obliged at 9usd. I paid only to realise I could actually have free black coffee and water as part of buffet. Was honestly a money making racket which is enough to remove much of the enjoyment of seeing the animals and staff on site who where actually lovely.

Riu's Corporate overlords - Everything close to Riu's palace are owned by the resort. So if you are not a guest at Riu expect to be not well treaten . Also It's the smallest zoo I ever saw in my life. I can't believe the leopards, the crocodiles and the jaguar are living in such small enclosure. Not worth 53 $ including tax.
