- Sandy Hoofs St. Lucia - Please note that a weight limit of 220lbs/99kgs/15st applies. This is our Advanced rider trail, and it is expected that you can correctly and confidently control your horse at all gaits/paces without direct assistance from the guide. That you can ride balanced at all gaits/paces and can ride any horse and can sit a buck or bolt in English or western tack. On arrival there will be a quick questionnaire to ensure that you meet the requirements of an advanced rider. There will then be a brief orientation where we introduce you to your horse and check all equipment. Once we know that you are ready to head out, we’ll ride out along the trail to towards the coastline and the beach. Along parts of the trails there are lots of scenic spots great for a photograph. You will ride out to four different beaches along this ride and once the sea conditions permit you may take a swim with your horse. The coastal trails offer vast views for you to take in the scenery along the way. You can also enjoy a canter/gallop along the beaches. We do ride out rain or sun as this is an outdoor activity. If the weather is forecasted to be dangerous, we will contact you to reschedule.

Experience spectacular views of the Atlantic coast on a 3 hour scenic horseback ride in St. Lucia. With views of country hillsides and happy grazing cows you’re also sure to spot a local fishermen making his daily catch. You will see views of Epouge bay and colourful camping cottages dotted along the peninsula before you ride down to beach where you will see the tiny Lapis island nestled in the bay. Here you can swim with your horse in the refreshing Atlantic waters and enjoy a canter/gallop along the beaches.

We are located in Beausejour, Gros Islet, in the North East. The road to our stables is located opposite the East Gate of the Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium. Look out for the sign "Beach Drive" on the corner. Once you are on Beach Drive take the first right and come straight up the short hill.

AMAZING experience!!!!! - Absolutely AMAZING experience with Sandy Hoofs - really had the best afternoon galloping along beaches and swimming in the sea! Couldn’t have asked for a more authentic experience on this gorgeous island with our fabulous tour guides Arkim & Stefon ❤️

Absolutely amazing - Absolutely amazing. Booked this for my birthday after finding Sandy hoofs on Instagram. The tours looked amazing and it didn’t disappoint. I booked the advanced 3hr tour. I was picked up and dropped back to my hotel for a little extra fee by Josh and his lovely wife who run and own Sandy hoofs. My guide was Arkim who was very nice and friendly he was always checking I was ok and offered support when needed but also gave me the freedom to ride as I liked. We visited 4 beaches in 3hrs and the views were incredible. I also got the chance to go in the sea with my horse and Arkim took lots of pictures for me. If you are a horse enthusiast or just looking to do horse back riding this is the place to go, I would 110% recommend Sandy hoofs. Everyone was so welcoming and you can really tell that they eat breath and sleep horses it’s there passion and the horses are really well kept and cared for. As it was my birthday I was given a cupcake when I was leaving which I thought was such a nice and thoughtful touch to an amazing perfect day. Thank you soooo much Sandy hoofs for this wonderful experience that I will treasure for a lifetime and when I’m in Saint Lucia again I will definitely be back again. ❤️

Must do! - Amazing must do! My guide was akim who was incredible and lovely to chat to and even let me take off my stirrups mid way thru (completely forgot to bring longs so they were rubbing!) please thank him for me. the ride was beautiful with the best trails I have ever seen. Lovely horses the mare I was on was a blast and so well matched to me, her foal even followed us which was adorable. Can really tell horses are well loved and taken care off. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend for an experience of a lifetime in a comfortable environment!

Epic experience! - What an amazing ride! Couldn’t fault the service! The staff were amazing and very informative, and really care about their horses! Our guide Stephan was also amazing, giving us updates on the sights and making sure we had the best time! We rode forward going horses, and getting to swim with them was a dream! Would highly recommend this family run stable! Thanks so much for a great, memorable experience!

Best riding experience in St Lucia - We chose to book with Sandy Hoofs and we are so glad we did. In the short time we were with them we saw that the owners, Josh and Keri, are passionate about their work by caring for their horse, guides and guests. They aren’t just running a business, but following their dreams and it makes for a great experience through and through.
Our horses were gentle, our guides were friendly and helpful, and our time was memorable.
Although we did not experience any other option for rides on the island, you know when you’ve found the best and Sandy Hoofs is the best. Highly recommend to anyone.

Incredible horse ridding experience!! - This was by far the best experience I had in St.Lucia. It’s family owed and the owner even picked us up from our resort and drove us to the excursion himself. He was amazing, and treats his horses like family!! The ride itself is incredible!! I will say you probably need to be pretty experienced for the upper level rides but if you can do it it’s well worth it!! If you don’t do anything else please do this ride and company!!!

Do NOT miss this experience in Saint Lucia!!!! - I don't even know where to begin with how truly AWESOME this experience was!!! I am an experienced rider and decided to go for the advanced ride with Sandy Hoofs and I could not have been more thrilled. ALL their rides are private and my private guide was Arkim. Josh (owner) picked me up right on time at my hotel and then I met Teflon (my horse) and Arkim and his horse, Surprise. The ride was 3 hours long but it was so wonderful, it felt like 3 minutes!! These are TRUE horse people. The health and well being of their animals and guests comes first and it is evident in every single thing they do. Arkim showed me around the island and pointed out interesting landmarks and places of interest. He was charming, intelligent, personable, and professional. My horse was well suited to me and I felt safe at all times. Arkim took the time to take some incredible photos and videos of me which I will cherish forever.
Sandy Hoofs is a place with limitless growth potential, Like I said, these are true horse people who know what they are doing and they understand animals, clients, and business. This experience absolutely MADE my vacation and the next time I am in Saint Lucia, it will be the first thing I rebook. Thank you, Arkim, Josh, Keri, Teflon, and everyone at Sandy Hoofs!!!!!

Absolutely wonderful experience! - This was an absolutely fantastic riding experience along the Atlantic coast of St. Lucia. The horses were beautiful and well cared for and you could tell the guides loved them. My mare had a two month old foal who came with us and was the life of the party! The two barn dogs trucked along as well and it was so neat to ride along the beaches and follow the trail to scenic vistas that overlooked the ocean. We had a nice break at one of the beaches and got to hang out with the guides and the horses. The guides customized our experience to everyone’s riding level so we all got to have a great time. If you go to St. Lucia be sure to include Sandy Hoofs in your schedule!

Wonderful 3-Hour Private Horse Ride - We so enjoyed our horse ride with Sandy Hoofs stables (owners Josh and Keri). Our guide, Alpha, provided us with such a wonderful experience on a 3-hour horse ride through the countryside mountain and valley and along 4 different beaches with ample cantering/loping and rode bareback into the ocean (Atlantic side). We were matched perfectly with horses named Teflon and Costaud. We only wished we had more time to come back and do it again on another day during our visit to St. Lucia.

Paradise on 4 Hooves - This stable is not like the commercial stables, where their primary goal is to get your money and get you on your way!! And none of the nose to tail nags to ride that seem like they are on their last leg!! It’s more like going to ride with friends who own beautiful, well mannered horses! The couple who owns the stable, Keri and Josh, love their horses and care for them and their riders impeccably!
They carefully match horse and rider, to get the perfect experience for each rider! The terrain is beautiful and a wonder to ride through. The vistas are amazing, and galloping on the beach is an incomparable experience! It was a treat to ride the horses into the sea up to their shoulders! We did the 3 hour trip, but loved it so much we could have ridden all day! If we hadn’t booked up our schedule so tightly, we would have gone back there multiple days for more riding! We’ll leave more days open for riding next time for sure!!!
