- Goreme Open-Air Museum - The Goreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is crucial for understanding the Christian legacy in Cappadocia. This monastic complex features hundreds of caves carved into soft volcanic rock over centuries. It showcases the finest examples of late Byzantine frescoed churches in Cappadocia. Although guiding inside the cave churches is restricted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the guide will accompany visitors to each church, providing explanations before entry to enhance understanding. Unlike most guides who wait at the museum café, the guide will be present outside each church to complete the tour with visitors.
- Karanlik Kilise - The Karanlik (Dark) Church contains the finest examples of late Byzantine frescoes in Cappadocia. This well-preserved church is painted from floor to ceiling, protected over time by its narrow entrance. The extra admission fee for the Dark Church is included, limiting tourist numbers and allowing visitors to appreciate Cappadocia’s best frescoes.
- Fairy Chimneys - Pasabag, often referred to as Monks Valley in guidebooks, is home to Cappadocia’s most stunning fairy chimneys. A charming cobblestone path winds through these magnificent formations. Some were historically used by Christian monks, giving the area its name. The guide will accompany visitors through the museum, explaining the formation of the fairy chimneys and the function of the small monasteries carved into them. The guide will also assist in capturing stunning photos of Monks Valley (Pasabaglari) and offer a delightful cup of Turkish coffee or tea with views of Pasabaglari.
- Devrent Valley - Devrent (Imagination) Valley features Cappadocia’s most intriguing fairy chimneys. Basalt stones scattered within volcanic ignimbrites have naturally eroded into fascinating animal and human shapes. Devrent Valley is a must-see photo stop when visiting Cappadocia.
- Avanos - Avanos is a picturesque town in Cappadocia, divided by the Red River, the longest river in Turkey. The red clay shaped on ancient kick wheels in Avanos is sourced from the Red River. Both riverbanks are popular recreational spots for locals. Visitors will stop in Avanos for lunch before exploring an underground city.
- Ozkonak Underground City - Every settlement in Cappadocia has an underground city. Initially used as wineries and storage, these caves became refuges for ancient communities. Christians used them to hide from enemies, transforming simple caves into complex shelters. Ozkonak Underground City is one of five visited in Cappadocia. Visitors can explore the maze-like city and learn how Cappadocians defended themselves from invaders. Visiting is not recommended for those with back problems, asthma, heart conditions, or claustrophobia.
- Goreme Panorama - Known locally as Esentepe, the Goreme Panorama offers breathtaking views of Goreme Valley, Red & Rose Valley, and Erciyes (Argeus) volcanic mountain. There are several cafes and parking spots for photos en route to Uchisar town. Visitors will stop to enjoy the views, take photos, and enjoy tea or coffee after visiting the underground city.
- Pigeon Valley - Situated outside Uchisar town, Pigeon Valley provides stunning views of the old town and numerous pigeon houses carved into its walls. The afternoon light is ideal for memorable photos from the viewpoint. Visitors can see the famous evil eye tree of Cappadocia and are encouraged to make a wish for their next trip upon arrival at Pigeon Valley in Uchisar.
- Uchisar Castle - Uchisar Castle is the largest fairy chimney in Cappadocia. Used as a watchtower by Roman soldiers, locals refer to it as a castle, a name that persists today. It is a well-maintained museum offering spectacular views of Cappadocia. Unlike other tours that view the castle from afar, visitors will have the opportunity to climb Uchisar Castle for a unique perspective of Cappadocia.
