First class tour company, best in Greece - We highly recommend Meteora Thrones Travel Center their service has been amazing from the time I booked the tour, to the questions I had before the day and to the actual day itself.
Our tour guide Eugenia was fantastic, her knowledge of the area and history was first class, a lovely young lady. Our driver Stefanos was also fantastic and made us feel relaxed driving to each of the monasteries and around the local area.
Highly recommend doing a private tour as it’s so much easy being driven and not have to worry about the parking, plus they know where to stop for the best photo opportunities.
The monasteries itself are well worth a visit and only cost €5 per person, this is the only extra cost you need to pay after the initial tour booking fee.
The scenery is breathtaking and the monasteries are amazing built on top of the rocks, well worth a visit, best tour in Greece :)

Great tour with a great... - Great tour with a great guide Christos. He asked what we were interested in and tailored the experience to our interests. He was very courteous and helpful. My daughter uses a wheelchair and he had great tips and suggestions for getting around.

Breathtaking Meteora Tour with a Minor Bump at Pickup Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (4.5/5) - We booked a private tour with Meteora Thrones and overall, it was a fantastic experience. Being picked up directly from the cruise port made everything seamless, and having the flexibility to move at our own pace was a huge plus.
We were warmly greeted by Eugenia and Steffano, who made the long drive enjoyable and informative. Once we arrived at the monasteries, the views were absolutely breathtaking—it’s hard to fathom how these incredible structures were built atop such towering rocks. Eugenia gave us a rich historical overview and even helped us capture some truly memorable photos.
Lunch was delicious, and we appreciated the chance to sample local delicacies before heading back. We were also grateful that we were allowed to bring food onboard—something we didn’t realize was normally not permitted.
The only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars is due to a hiccup during pickup. We couldn’t locate our guide at first, and when we asked another Meteora Thrones staff member for help, she dismissed us rather rudely. It was a frustrating moment that could’ve been handled with more courtesy.
That said, the rest of the tour was exceptional, and we’d still recommend Meteora Thrones for anyone looking to explore this awe-inspiring region with knowledgeable guides and personalized service.

Perfect personalized informative experience of Meteora that will exceed your expectations. - Chris, our tour guide for our private tour of 7 friends was excellent! He designed the tour such that we could catch views as the sun was hitting them. Also, he knew the perfect places to stop for those photo opportunities as well as timing our stops before or after the big bus crowds. The van was comfortable, well air conditioned and we got the most our of our full day in Meteora with a stop for lunch, customized stops based on our interest and physical conditions! I highly recommend this tour for anyone that really wants to experience Meteora and learn the history about the area.

Highly recommended - The company and guides were amazing to deal with, they took us to some off the beaten path areas to view the first caves the monks stayed in. Really enjoyed the private tour.

Wonderful Private Tour - I had a restricted date (the day before Easter!) and despite needing transportation by car from Thessaloniki due to trains not running, Meteora Thrones was quick to work with me. They were extremely responsive and quick to communicate with any and all
questions and needs I had. Even more, Nancy, our guide, was absolutely fabulous. She was friendly and offered us her extensive knowledge of the monasteries, both history and the best vantage points for viewing them. She recommended which monasteries to
visit based on the needs of our group, but was also fully open to any requests. She had advice for everything and made our day extremely easy and fun. The sites themselves are of course beautiful. Nancy recommended a local spot for lunch, phoned them and made a reservation for us, and even took me to the kitchen to point out her recommendations for dishes. She fueled up while we ate, then surprised us with local halva as a treat. (All this after making the drive to and from Thessaloniki twice in one day!). It was a truly special day (the standout of our entire trip!) and I recommend her and Meteora Thrones wholeheartedly.

Excellent service! - Excellent experience. Christos, our driver, was timely, informative and a great communicator. The van was very comfortable. We highly recommend this service and we will use them again if we return to the area.

Meteora with Christos - Christos met us at the port in Thessaloniki and took us to see the monasteries at Meteora. He grew up in that area and was able to take us to places we would not have been able to find. Not only did he know the area, but he knew the history. Because of his careful timing we were able to see 3 monasteries. Then lunch at a very nice outdoor Cafe, I belive it was in Kastraki.
The back to the ship. In all it was a 12 hour day.
We really liked Chris and would love to have him and his family visit us.

Meteora with Meteora Thrones was fantastic - Meteora Thrones went above and beyond to provide a personal trip for us. We were staying at a resort where other companies wouldn’t pick up from and provided us a private tour to enable us to see a bucket list location. Our guide Nancy was good company, knowledgable and flexed our day to suit us and other tourists that day to ensure we visited at the best times. Awesome experience and awesome customer service! Would definitely recommend.
