• Meteora - Nestled between the grand Pindos mountain range and Antiochasia, the hallowed Meteora rocks and the town of Kalambaka stand. Recognized for its distinctiveness, Meteora is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List.
  Within the embrace of these sandstone giants, in sync with the surrounding environment, 24 monasteries were erected in the era of Christianity. This site is a significant Orthodox landmark, second only to Mount Athos in monastic prominence, with a history spanning approximately six centuries. The initial monasteries were constructed with remarkable skill in the 14th century. As time passed, several have undergone renovations to achieve their current architectural state. Access to these monasteries was originally gained through the use of scaffolding, nets, and beams fixed into the rocks, and later, via ladders. Nowadays, visitors ascend via stairs hewn directly into the rock, providing a secure and effortless route to these monastic retreats.
