Excellent tour, with a... - Excellent tour, with a wonderfully engaging and knowledgeable guide, Matilda. The museum is huge, so if you want to make sure you see the "highlights", you need to have a guide, and there cannot be any better than Matilda. Its a long 2.5 hours, packed with so much great information about a wide variety of pieces, not just the 4 or 5 you always hear about, so prepare to have your interest piqued on subjects you knew little to nothing about. Unconditionally recommended!

Great tour - Jamie did an excellent job leading our tour of the British Museum. He was incredibly insightful, knew all the key highlights, and brought the history to life with his commentary. He also gave us some great tips for exploring on our own after the tour. Jamie was extremely friendly and approachable throughout. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys history!

Guided tour a must for a first-time visit - We did the semi-private tour and there were three of us total. Our guide, Becky, was a history major and an excellent communicator. She showed us the highights of the museum and provided commentary and context. It was extremely interesting and fun. The museum itself is overwhelming. Without a guide, it would be very difficult to get a lot out of a first visit. Becky was also extremely knowledgeable and when I asked about seeing the Aztec serpent, not a common request, she immediately took us there and could explain everything about it and the other turquoise mosaic objects the museum had acquired. She also did not shy away from addressing the controversies associated with the museum holding these objects from other cultures. We were extremely impressed with her friendliness, knowledge and enthusiasm, and we now feel better prepared to return on our own to see additional material. Highly recommend! Better also to go on a weekday for smaller crowds.

We had an amazing time at... - We had an amazing time at the British museum. Our guide was Stephanie K. She was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and humorous. We learned so much and had a lot of fun, 2.5 hour went by so fast. I am so glad I chose this tour. Highly recommended.

Plunder at its finest - Very interesting. The UK is the global leader in plunder, and it shows. I'm not even British and it embarrassed me to be white. Still and all, lots of very interesting stuff. Our guide was great and knew when to be highly embarrassed.

Good 2 hour visit to the museum for first time visitors - We enjoyed the tour. The British Museum is vast, and Stephanie, our guide, was entertaining, provided good information, and focused on items of special importance in the collection.

Huge enhancement to our British Museum visit. - Excellent, excellent!!! Sheldon, our guide had picked some fascinating items to focus the tour on and provided a great deal of very interesting detail and background information on them. With thousands of items on display, my wife and I believe our visit to the museum was a much better experience because of the rich context and body of information Sheldon contributed. I would highly recommend that anyone’s visit to the British Museum includes a guided tour like Sheldon provided!
