Jack the Ripper With Ripper-Vision, Theatrics and a Safety Issue - We recently returned from London where we took a Jack the Ripper Tour with "Ripper-Vision." There are a few points worth noting about the tour: • Numbers--this was a large tour in terms of headcount (~20+ people). This wasn't a problem for my family but worth noting if you prefer a smaller experience. It wasn’t possible to ask individual questions of the tour guide, for example. Several other tour companies we passed who were also doing Jack the Ripper tours, made note of our numbers. • Highly Theatrical, Not Necessarily in a Good Way--The tour felt less factual and more like a West End production. There was a well-rehearsed narrative, right down to sound effects, jokes, projected photos, cliffhangers, etc. all delivered by the tour guide who modulated his voice to punctuate points. It was fun, don't get me wrong, but grew old and felt very canned. • Safety Issue--The tour concluded in a dark alleyway, not a main street, after which our tour guide left, leaving us lost and uncomfortable. Not sure if this was intentional but it felt unsafe and poorly considered for tourists. Strongly recommend the tour reconsider it.

Jack Meh Ripper - It wasn’t that interesting. Didn’t hear anything that was already publicly known. What took 2 hours, could have been better done in 30 minutes. Ripper Vision was our guide holding a cheap mini projector that showed us wobbly pictures on random walls. To finish on a good note, our guide was nice and took the job seriously.

Whitechapel Jack the Ripper-Vision Tour - The guide was knowledgeable and informative and during the entire tour expressed his strong- concerns regarding the treatment of the victims by the both the public and the police because these women were deemed as prostitutes and therefore not treated with either the respect or the dignity they deserved as victims of such heinous violence. However, near the very end of the tour, he proceeded to show extremely graphic police photos of two of the victims. There was a warning that some people might possibly find them offensive but that does not cover it. They were beyond anything I could have imagined and I was both shocked and very distressed that he displayed them like a trophy and the highlight at the end. I wanted to say something and somehow defend the dignity of these women who had already lost so much, but had no words at the time. I had trouble sleeping for a week. I think that him doing this was in itself extremely disrespectful to these women and their families, never mind all women. There was a young boy of about 12 years old in our group and had it have been my son that was shown that I can tell you I would have been horrified and very angry. It was an unnecessary thing to do and in no way adds anything the tour.

Disappointing - Pretty disappointing tour. The "ripper vision" consists of a small number of pictures projected against walls and soffits of buildings. It's a very small part of the tour itself. The story telling is quite fragmented, jumping from one victim to the other. Didn't really learn a great deal about Jack the Ripper at all. There were many other similar tours being held at the same time, some of which appeared to have more detail and more skilled storytellers when describing the victims and murders. Our guide was a little monotone and created no atmosphere. Overall pretty underwhelmed and wouldn't recommend.

Not a good one - The tour was not a good one. It was supposed to have a continuous video show, that did not happen. Guide was not engaging or entertaining at all. Started out with about 40 people...by the time we snuck away, there was maybe 15.

Terrible, waste of money - Disappointed, the guide didn’t appear to give much more deal then you could read from The guide book. He wasn’t engaging. There was about 30 on our tour, no one asked questions so I suspect they all felt the same. The tour was about 1.5 hours, it was so bad, we left half way through as we felt like we were using valuable time that could have been used on seeing the sights

Do NOT GO on ANY Ripper tour!! - I wouldn't recommend anyone go on a Jack The Ripper tour, period. The places tied to this history no longer exist (except one pub). Our tour guide was fantastic, but "Rippervision" is just (when it is dark enough - meaning - last 20 minutes) the same photos our guide had in a binder. There were FAR too many people on the tour as well. But there were at least 6 different "Ripper" guides doing their thing, and there is literally NOTHING to see. I just can't recommend any Ripper tour. Want to do a night or ghost tour? Go do one of those. And Ripper tour isn't worth it.

Do not bother - Save your money. We left after seeing the yet another area where a victim lived but was now a modern building. The ripper vision is just photos from any ripper book projected small and shaking on random walls and ceilings amongst large crowd. Find original smaller tour with ripperologist.

Horrible tour - We read all the reviews and thought this would be an amazing tour. It was a total waste of time, our tour guide was horrible. Made a lot of off color jokes, as well as telling people they might be passing out from the pictures on his projector which obviously were copies of pictures from various sources. Didn't provide any information other than the ladies murders, where they were murdered in between all of his jokes....Maybe a different guide would have been better.

Not worth it - There were too many people at least 25. You couldn’t hear the guide and he had black and white photos held upon the dark that you could t see. We left. Not worth the money or time
