Outstanding Customer service by Don. - WBR49P2H35T ***** Five stars to Don for excellent customer care skills. I was sitting for 30 minutes waiting for my boat and observing his wonderful communication skills, great manner and super interpersonal skills as he dealt with a whole variety of customers catching different uber boats. A credit to the company, and deserves an award as it is unusual in these days to come across as someone that stands out for excellence. Definitely a keeper!

Unpleasant staff - I've enjoyed taking these boats for years, and when meeting old friends, have often taken a long trip so we can catch up while enjoying the ride. Yesterday, two actions by the staff (one on the pier, one on the boat) ruined our until now entirely positive experience, and certainly ruined yesterday for us. We made a genuine mistake buying concessionary tickets, not knowing that since October 2024, it's not been possible to use a concession card from outside London (which my friend had done for years previously). The guy checking the tickets on the pier said very brusquely and offensively "So why did you buy that ticket then?" Then on the boat itself, the "revenue officer," equally unpleasant and abrasive said that he should normally have fined my friend £50, but said that "on this occasion" he'd charge her "this", and just showed her the card reader with an amount on. He didn't volunteer the information that the rules changed last October, I had to ask him if the rules had changed, since we were confused as to why this had happened. No sympathetic reading of the situation to bear in mind that we were just a couple of over 60s on a day out who'd made a mistake. No offer to let my friend pay the difference between what she'd paid and the correct fare. No rationale as to why that particular charge had been made. I should say that in many years of travelling on these boats, I haven't had an experience like this with any of the staff, and I hope that I never have one again. The police are honestly more pleasant to deal with.
