Highlights
  • Grand Canyon South Rim - Our biblical creation tours of the Grand Canyon National Park’s South Rim include multiple stops to the very best overlooks with tons of insightful teaching throughout the day. The order below is a “typical” route, focusing on the park’s east side along Desert View Drive.

Due to changing weather, seasons, or the people flow in the park that day, we may have alternate stops other than what we provide below. Our tours are not “scripted”, so guides have the freedom and flexibility to respond to changes in the park as well as your own individual group dynamic.

Our tour does not include entry fee into the Grand Canyon National Park, which you may pay at the gate or use a National Park Pass. Entry is good for 7 days of unlimited use.

  • Grand Canyon Visitor Center South Rim - Our tour meets at the flag pole just outside the Grand Canyon Visitor Center building INSIDE the park at tour start time.
  • Yavapai Point - Starting near the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, our first stop provides you with an introduction to the Grand Canyon and its geology.

We will lay the foundation for the rest of the tour regarding the biblical events of the Flood found in Genesis and the significance of what we’ll be exploring throughout our tour.

  • Grandview Point - Learn about the exciting Wild West people history at Grandview Point, with talks on mining both copper and tourist pockets in the early days of the Grand Canyon National Park development.

Enjoy wide vistas and the distant Colorado River as we talk about the significance of the canyon and whether that river has the power to cut and remove this material.

  • Lipan Point - While taking in fantastic river views, including one of the canyon’s largest rapids, we will talk about the Native American Ancestral Puebloans who lived far below on the Unkar Delta.

At Lipan Point, we will also showcase the geological Great Unconformity, Cambrian Explosion, and the Tapeats Sandstone—all of which provide fantastic observable evidence for a global Flood.

Learn about the mechanisms of the Flood from its onset, and how we believe the sedimentary rock layers were deposited through this year-long destructive event of biblical proportions!

  • Navajo Point - A lot of water, in a little bit of time. Learn about the carving of the Grand Canyon by what we call the “lake spillover” or “breached dam” model, something first proposed in geology all the way back in the 1800s and still held by both creation and some secular geologists alike today.

See beyond the Grand Canyon to the distant Vermilion and Echo Cliffs of the Marble Platform and southeast to parts of the Painted Desert. Learn about the nearby historic Desert View Watchtower, completed in 1932.

  • Moran Point - Conclude our tour with a stop at Moran Point, with views of the river, rapids, and a beautiful landscape before heading back to the Visitor Center to drop you off.
  • Grand Canyon Visitor Center South Rim - After the tour, our guide will drop you off back at your vehicle at the Grand Canyon National Park Visitor Center, or wherever else you may have parked that day.

Additional Information

Join us on Christian tour of the Grand Canyon, featuring a biblical creation perspective!

A Grand Canyon morning rim tour offers fewer crowds and a quieter landscape. Watch as long shadows of deep blues and purples give way to richer reds and oranges as the sun moves higher in the sky, providing more direct light into its depths.

During the tour, your guide will take you to several locations along the South Rim’s Desert View Drive and will spend time sharing about the geology, plants, animals, and people’s history of the canyon—and, of course, the biblical message of Creation and the Flood as recorded in the book of Genesis.

Start the day with the One who made it on a Grand Canyon Morning Rim Tour.

  • Tour does not include park entry. Current fees may be found on the Grand Canyon National Park website.

Simply Amazing! - I don’t even know where to begin! Our tour guide Luke was amazing. He answered our questions, gave us incredible information about the canyon, and encouraged us spiritually! By far one of the highlights of our trip! We had a group of 11 ranging in age from 10-80, and it was perfect for us all.

Amazing Tour from a Biblical Worldview - Our guides were amazing and we learned so much about God's Beautiful Creation. Refreshing to hear from a Biblical Creation worldview instead of secular worldview. They were very knowledgeable and what they said made sense. Thank you for a great tour!

Good creationist account of formation of grand canyon - We had a great time on the tour. Our guide, Dana, was great. She was really informative and helpful. I highly recommend it. She provided a good biblical and scientific account of how the biblical flood from Noah time formed the Grand Canyon

Grandeur and Majesty of the Grand Canyon from a Biblical perspective - The Sunrise tour was the highlight of our time at the Grand Canyon. The explanations of how this canyon came to be in a short time frame made far more sense than the explanations on the National Park services' placards. The grandeur and majesty of the canyon displays the even greater grandeur and majesty of the One that brought this about.

Experiencing the creation... - Experiencing the creation story of the Bible, with the majesty of the canyon before us as led by our guide Dana, was beyond anything I could've ever imagined! Although the geology of the canyon can be quite complex for the average person to understand, the presentation by Dana, balanced by the clear truth of what our Lord said and did as recorded in sacred scripture, provided a clear experience of the beauty of our great nation and God's love for us and his creation. We visited many of the most stunning views of the south rim, and traveled comfortably in a clean, air-conditioned van, with plenty of cool water to quench our physical thirst. Our intellectual thirst and our spiritual thirst were quenched in a profound way. Thanks Canyon Ministries and Dana, for this most unique experience! God Bless America 🇺🇸

One Canyon; 2 world views - We were driven to 4 or 5 viewing sites along the South Rim. Spectacular views! Our guide explained the flood that destroyed the world. He also explained what caused the Grand Canyon to be formed. Amazing! (It wasn’t the Colorado River.)

Highlight of our Grand Canyon Visit - My husband and I saw a FB ad for Canyon Ministries and followed up reading reviews and decided to book the morning rim tour. We could not be more pleased with the entire experience. We received a text the day before confirming time and meeting place. We meet Bob Smart as a group and loaded up to begin promptly at 8:00 am and made our way to first outlook. Bob's passion for the subject (Genesis Flood) is exciting and his love for Jesus is obvious. He broke down the geology part of the tour in a simple way and used visuals to enhance the topic. The scriptures were used to tie the two topics and it really all made perfect sense! We are grateful for your ministry and highly recommend anyone interested in a Biblical based understanding of the Grand Canyon's formation pick a tour that works for you and GO! We have already shared the website with friends and will continue to do so. This tour was the highlight of our trip to the Grand Canyon. I have not doubt that Bob is the best (wink wink) but would be confident in any of the team members.

The Highlight of Our Whole Trip - My husband and I planned a trip to the Grand Canyon and surrounding area for our 45th wedding anniversary and booked this 4 Hour Morning Rim Tour with Canyon Ministries as part of that trip. It turned out to be foundational and the highlight of our two weeks in the west! Dana was an excellent, gifted, friendly and knowledgeable guide/teacher. Her love for God, people and science was very evident. She told of how she grew up in a non-Christian home, went to a secular college as a science major - and the "billions of years theory" just never made sense to her...we certainly connected with that! When we looked at the canyon, it seemed obvious to us that something CATASTROPHIC happened - not just a simple stream of water eating its way down through the rocks for a billion years! Reading from Scripture, she explained a more reasonable and plausible way - Noah's Flood and the resulting events that accompanied it! It was a world-wide flood ... and it changed the world! I called this tour "foundational" for us, because as we traveled to Antelope Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park, the evidence of all she had explained was visible to us everywhere we went. Our trip became a worship experience. What a Mighty God we serve! The van ride was comfortable and we felt safe in Dana's care. The tour was nicely paced. There were water bottles available and also a good set of binoculars, which was helpful, and time was made for potty breaks. We are telling everyone about Canyon Ministries! Book it! - you will not regret it.
