The day begins with a delightful stroll through the central garden of Chania, a hidden green oasis in the city’s heart. Within this garden lies Kipos Café, the first historical café in Chania, in operation since 1870. We’ll take a brief visit inside to soak in the charm of its atmospheric interior.
In this beautiful and timeless setting, we’ll conduct our Ancient Greek Calligraphy Workshop.
Participants will:
- Learn to write in Ancient Greek script
- Combine simple elements of ancient-inspired painting
- Create their name in ancient letters
- Leave with a unique art piece to take home
No supplies or experience are necessary—just bring your curiosity!
Throughout the workshop, enjoy Cretan mountain tea and traditional Cretan sweets, as we create and connect in a setting that perfectly complements the spirit of the art.

Participants will start with a brief walk through the city garden, leading to Kipos Café, a delightful and historic venue that has been welcoming guests since 1870—a true treasure of local heritage.
In its serene garden, attendees will engage in a creative and interactive workshop. They will learn to write in ancient Greek letters and blend calligraphy with simple ancient Greek element paintings to craft their own unique artwork to take home.
Participants will also have the opportunity to write their names in ancient Greek, all while savoring coffee, mountain tea, and traditional Cretan finger foods in a relaxing setting.
This activity is easy and enjoyable—no prior experience is required, involves minimal walking, and is perfect for families (with children aged 8 and above), students, adults, and seniors who wish to connect with Greek culture in a fun and artistic manner.
