Vrmac – Beginning from Tivat city, a mere 10-minute drive from the hotels, leads us to an authentic Montenegrin hamlet, situated 300 metres above sea level, which commands a panoramic view of the bay and coastline. Starting our journey through the village, we ascend along the old trade route, nestled in the shadow, and discover its origins during the Austro-Hungarian rule, when it served as a connector for a network of fortifications, barracks, and trenches atop the Vrmac peak. The grand reward of this expedition is the majestic vista from the summit, which spans both flanks of the Boka bay - the historic city of Kotor, tucked away in the stunning fjord, and the Tivat Riviera and the expansive Adriatic sea on the south. The descent involves an unpaved road through the forest and shade, leading us to deserted barracks and a fortress at the ridge’s other end. This locale serves as an excellent pick-up point and a perfect spot for a snack or lunch, concluding this popular trekking route.
