Fun day tasting very unique wines and spirits - Bit of a drive to the first winery, but once there we enjoyed an excellent selection of unique types of wine to taste (including honey wine and various tawny’s along with more classic red and whites). The lunch stop was excellent and my wife and I each had a flavourful risotto which we matched with a delightful red for me and a great white for her. The final stop (after two wineries and the last lunch stop) was a distillery that had a huge selection of very unique and flavourful sprits. Our guide was excellent and all in all it was a very good time, plus we brought home 4 bottles of interesting wines.

There’s wine in the hills!!! - Great tour. Barry was a fantastic and knowledgeable host. The selection of Winery’s balanced the day beautifully. Also a great way to learn about Mt Tambourine and its history. I would recommend for someone looking for variety in the Gold Coast.

Good, overall tour and a good lunch. - It was a cloudy day with intermittent rain. A good thing to do on such a day. Views were limited but to be expected. Matt was a good driver, nice and smooth. You could give us a bit more info Matt, along the way. I really enjoyed the first winery. He said they struggle to grow grapes in that area but they were there for the honey and the honey wine (mead) they make. Very interesting and lots of different flavours. A distillery at the end and a good look around the hinterland and Mount Tamborine.

Average Wine Tour on Mt Tamborine - We did this wine tour during a lay over in Brisbane after travelling through Japan & Vietnam. It was the 10th day tour of this trip and ranked near the bottom. It felt very casual after the service levels experienced in those other countries. Our driver Tony was still learning the ropes and getting his bearings. We visited 3 wineries and a distillery. The amount and variety of tastings was good however we were waiting several times for longish periods for service and left to our own devices. We stopped at Hampton Estate Wineries and Tony ended up pouring a wine for us as the Winery staff were occupied entertaining the many Hens party groups. We had lunch at this winery. The food was good however I chewed on a sharp piece of hard plastic which was in the lamb dish. I asked the young waiter to let the kitchen know but never heard back. No sign of our guide as he was more focussed on getting on stage with the band! The distillery visit was fun and the group enjoyed that visit. Tony also took us to 2 locations to look at the great view from the mountain top which was nice. We got dropped off in Brisbane central about 1/2 km from our Hotel and then the driver continued up the road towards our hotel presumably driving right past where we were staying….

Only good for a young wine novice - There were a couple nice views and lunch was the highlight. The wines were young and watery. Great for a novice to discover things from whites to red Shiraz to champagne. Our driver did most of the tastings as the people at the wine places were too lazy to do it themselves. The last stop was liquors and they were quite sweet if that’s your thing.
