A nature day near Dublin - This was a lovely drive through several town outside of Dublin on the way to the Wicklow mountains. A couple of stops along the way where I was able to head out on my own to see lakes and waterfalls.

Nice promenade in Dublin country side - Had a wonderful day with Mydie even if many things were closed due to Coronavirus. Mydie saved our day and we saw many beautiful locations. She took good care of us and we had fun.

Birthday Trip - I hired Kate for a full day to guide us through some nice natural places outside of Dublin. Despite rain, it was a wonderful experience that will remain for a long time in our memories. This short trip was a birthday present for my 18 years old daughter. She was very happy with that trip as well. Kate is very knowledgeable, as she is a writer and journalist as well. We can truly recommend Kate as a local guide. Thank you Kate, from Angelina and Patrick (Germany).

Laid Back and Fun Tour of the Countryside with Kate - Very pleased to be able to report on a wonderful day with Kate. After a week in Dublin on business, I contacted her and asked her to help with a November Saturday itinerary that included getting out of the city and seeing some countryside. I wanted to get away from the city, but not spend all day in a car, to go to a country pub or two, but not spend all day in pubs, and to see some history and nature. She responded promptly and the tour she arranged was extraordinary! Fortunately, the weather was cooperative. We went to a point on the coast called Forty Foot to watch waves crash on the rocks and some hardy locals taking a dip! Then through the quaint village of Dalkey and down along the coast for beautiful views of Killiney Bay and on to Powerscourt Waterfall, which was spectacular following recent heavy rains, and set in a beautiful park where we walked around and got some fresh air and exercise. We stoppped at Lynhams of Laragh, a cozy pub with a fireplace burning, and had an authentic lamb stew lunch and a pint of Guiness. Next was Glendalough, with ruins of a 6th century cathedral, beautiful views across the lakes, rumors of ancient spirits, and close-up views of birds and a small herd of deer. Up into the Wicklow Mountains we rode, past the Glenmacnass Waterfall with views down into the valleys we had come from, and over the pass at Sally Gap. Kate was extremely knowledgeable about the locations we traversed and provided a good travelogue. She is also a fun and interesting companion, as we discussed, as we drove along, in addition to local and national and natural history, art, literature, culture, politics, religion, etc. Kate was relaxed and flexible about the trip throughout. She made a special stop when I asked her to get me an opportunity for some close-up photos of sheep! We spent time as we pleased, and didn't worry about sticking to any agenda or schedule. The twilight journey through the mists rolling across vast peat bogs on the way back to Dublin was spectacular and surreal, the perfect closing to a most satisfying adventure!
