  • Trades Hall of Glasgow - Encounter a often-overlooked gem of Georgian Glasgow and hear about a club where pig-like gluttony was encouraged!
  • Hutcheson’s Hall - In the shadow of one of the city centre’s most striking buildings, hear the unflinching tale of Glasgow’s growth as a commercial, then industrial city; its decline, renaissance, and the legacy, and ongoing impact, of Mother Glasgow on the world today.
  • Trongate - On this ancient thoroughfare, near the 16th century Tron Kirk Steeple, hear the remarkable story of an incredible hidden entertainment venue, in all its glory and grottiness!
  • Tolbooth Steeple - Beneath the glorious 17th century Tolbooth Steeple (where the Trongate, the Saltmarket, London Road, the Gallowgate and High Street meet), encounter the eye-popping history of Old Glasgow at its epicentre – Glasgow Cross.
  • St. Mungo at High Street - See Glasgow’s most famous son hiding in plain sight: one of the best pieces of street art you’ll ever see.
  • Provand’s Lordship - Across from the 15th century Provand’s Lordship (the city’s oldest house) take in four quite special buildings – including a small blue one which is sometimes used for inter-dimensional travel!
  • Glasgow Cathedral - Glasgow’s architectural pinnacle – our medieval, Scottish Gothic cathedral, with the dramatic backdrop of Victorian Glasgow’s ‘city of the dead’, the Necropolis, behind. (Depending on COVID restrictions on group size and mask-wearing inside the cathedral, the tour may finish outside the church.)

Informative and Entertaining - An entertaining and informative 3 hour journey around Glasgow. Our guide, Johnny, was top notch... personable and extremely knowledgeable. He even sent out a list of recommendations for pubs, restaurants and other things to see and do in Glasgow and personalized it with some specifics when he found out I was vegan. Highly recommend!

Take a gander and wander with Johnny - If anything could make me love spending hours outside on a dreary, rainy day in Glasgow, Johnny's Gander Walking Tours is it!. An authentic Glaswegian with deep knowledge of the history, culture, and architecture of this fascinating city, Johnny kept our group captivated with stories and insights that made us (almost) forget the downpour. I highly recommend you book this tour when visiting Glasgow.

Great guide to Introduce us to Mother Glasgow! - Johnny was a wonderful guide, introducing us to Glasgow, its architecture, history and things to do. It was very rainy during our tour, and Johnny even gave up both of his umbrellas so that our unprepared fellow tourists would have coverage. He spoke clearly and loudly so that everyone could hear. He made a point of connecting with each of us individually as well.

Better than 5 Stars - I wish I could give this tour more than 5 stars. I've done walking tours in many cities around the world and this was far and away the best. Johhny's knowledge and passion for his city is incredible. He also provided a very detailed list of recommendations for the city at the end of the tour. You should book this tour for the first day of your trip and then spend the rest just following Johnny's recomendations.
