Breathe taken - It’s one thing to see everything in the history books. But to see them in PERSON!!!! Ibrahim definitely was an amazing Egyptologist. His knowledge, excitement and overall love for what he does shows. His eyes glowed just as much as mine. I loved learning about the true history behind the noses being destroyed and learning to understand the hieroglyphics. Hands down worth every dollar spent

One of the best tours - I just want to start by saying that I live in Egypt, so I don’t typically book tourist activities or engage in them. Also because I live here I know fairly well when someone is trying to scam or when they are being decent, I know how to avoid being taken advantage of. I booked this activity because my adult kids and grandson were coming to visit as a group and wanted to plan a nice time for them- my grandson’s mom had never visited Egypt before and of course wanted to see the famous pyramids. I had seen many positive reviews about this tour on Expedia but there were also some that were not as positive. I thought it best to try it and take my own experience because often times foreign visitors to Egypt don’t understand local mannerisms or behavior and tend to interpret it negatively when nothing bad is actually happening. I arranged with Ibrahim (tour operator) to meet at his work location and followed him in my car to the tourist complex. He conducted himself professionally and knowledgeably as he got our entry tickets into the complex and explained what to expect- even warning us that there are many scammers inside and we shouldn’t engage with them or deal with them (I already knew this from previous visits but I was impressed that he would be candid to tourists about it because honestly many tour operators are not). He gave us very interesting and educational summaries of the main points and items in the welcome center and on the pyramid plateau. I actually learned a lot I didn’t know before and it made me appreciate Egypt and Egyptian culture even more. Ibrahim made sure that we knew what each next step of the tour was and how it would work, giving us choices about different ways to do the tour (for example taking photos of the sphinx at one farther location with a quicker bus return or a closer location with a longer wait for the bus). Our tour included a camel ride (we declined the alternative to enter one of the pyramids) that I didn’t participate in to watch my grandson but I had the chance to sit in the shade and drink tea made on the fire- best tea ever, a nice woody/smoky taste to it. After we left the pyramids we drove over to the papyrus museum which was next to an aromatherapy store. My sons rode in the car with Ibrahim, where they learned a little about his family life and that he has been working in the tourism industry for over 2 decades. We learned a lot at the aromatherapy store about traditional Egyptian natural remedies and perfume mixing. It was also interesting to learn about the papyrus paper making process and see the displayed art there. Finally Ibrahim gave us a choice of lunch (koshary, shawerma or chicken and rice dish). We opted for the shawerma which was delicious. Ibrahim was very pleasant and informative throughout the tour and even played with and held my grandson often (he is not yet 2) to try to keep him entertained (he’s a wild one!). Ibrahim is a decent business man and not at any point did he make us feel uncomfortable or taken advantage of. He was very kind and informative and truly did everything to make the tour a positive and memorable experience. I plan to keep his business contact info to use him for activities I might plan for my family when they visit in the future, or maybe even some special getaways for me and my husband. I definitely recommend this tour to locals and foreigners alike.
