The Great Pyramid of Giza (also known as the Pyramid of Khufu and the Pyramid of Cheops) is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza Necropolis, adjacent to what is now El-Giza. It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one to remain mostly intact. Egyptologists believe the pyramid was built as a tomb for the Fourth Dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu (known as Cheops in Greek) and was constructed over a period of 14 to 20 years, concluding around 2560 BC.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Cairo to first explore the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Then, proceed to visit the Great Sphinx, which features the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion, dating back to the time of Chephren. This Sphinx was created to serve as the Guardian of the Pyramids of King Chephren.
The tour also includes a visit to the Valley Temple, which is associated with the Pyramids of Chephren. The temple served two distinct purposes.
