Must do - Perfect day- got seen all the highlights in Cairo!
The guide mamdue was a legend!! It doesn’t seem like a museum is so fun, but he was so engaging and good at telling so it became contagious and it became incredibly exciting to see the museum!
Great that it was the same guide throughout the day, especially when he was so good!
The drivers and were so nice! This tour is strongly recommended

Cairo in a day (by plane) with Egytripgo! - If you’re like me and dreamed of seeing the Pyramids, Sphinx, the new museum, enjoying lunch, and even the River Nile, but didn’t fancy the long coach journey, then I can’t recommend Egytripgo!
I first spoke with Bassem at egytripgo before I even landed in Egypt, told him exactly what I wanted, and there was zero hassle or pressure. Once I settled into my hotel, I reached out again and Bassem came to meet us personally in the hotel of our reception (just give reception his car number & they will let him in)
At the same time, I contacted several other companies recommended in this group, but this was by far the cheapest option, just £210 per person. That price included everything above: hotel pick-up and drop-off, flights, and a personal guide. Not just any guide, but the incredible Nas, who greeted us at Cairo airport and shared his deep knowledge throughout the day & also took the most amazing photographs! (He knows all the best spots)
Yes, it’s still a long day, but it’s absolutely worth every penny. They knew all the best spots, no long queuing for the new museum, we even added a private boat ride on the Nile for just £10 extra; no rip-offs, just pure magic thanks to Nas’s local connections.
Bassem also offers tours to Luxor, beaches, boat trips, and more, so there’s plenty of choice if you’re planning ahead. Honestly, considering some companies were charging £300+ per person for the same itinerary, this speaks volumes.
💯 Couldn’t thank them enough for their hospitality. If you’re unsure where to start, I hope this helps you like it helped me!

✨ An unforgettable day in Cairo! - An exceptional excursion to Cairo!
We had an unforgettable day, perfectly organized from start to finish. The sights were beautiful, but what really made the difference were the drivers! Always punctual, smiling and very professional, they drove with caution and put us at ease throughout the journey. Their kindness and Service contributed greatly to the success of this tour.
Many thanks to the whole team for this great experience — I definitely recommend! 🙏🚐✨

Be Prepared! - Be prepared for a 4.5 hour journey each way on a bumpy road. You will need lots of euros or dollars for the toilet and tips. Be wary of carriage drive at Giza as driver fleeced us for a 600 egyptian pound tip half way and the road is very rocky and hair-raising! Take water and snacks. Go for the Grand Museum which is the New Egyptian Museum. Be aware that monthly salary may be £100 hence constant demands for tips! The pyramids are stunning and very little time to wander in a very special place

Price / performance top! - Everything that was promised was kept. It was an impressive experience. The guide explained in detail in German and English and answered questions. Of course, there were also two sales stops for papyrus and perfume. If you communicate directly that you don't want to buy anything, we weren't tempted to change our minds for long either. You also have to bear in mind that the journey is very long, but that should be clear when looking at the map. The boat trip on the Nile is optional, and costs 15€ extra. It wasn't bad to catch another glimpse of Cairo, but you don't miss much either.
Conclusion
Great experience, price/performance definitely fits.

Beautiful pyramids, however, the overall trip was difficult - Pros: The tour takes you to all the important spots, the pyramids were beautiful and the transportation worked out well.
Cons: Communication was insufficient and it felt like a tourist trap most of the time, since every opportunity imaginable was used to make extra money. I was offered a taxi ride to the minibus meeting point at an additional charge of 7€, this was not agreed upon initially, however, I had no choice and also I had to figure it out along the way, since the taxi driver could hardly communicate with me in English. I only got a clear idea of the itinerary once we met our guide in Cairo after a 6 hour bus ride and I asked him to specifically say what we were doing and what was included in the price. There were several additional activities (boat ride, camel ride etc) at additional charges of 10€ each, that were presented as part of the fixed itinerary. If you didn't want to participate, you had to literally insist. Additionally, there were several stops at different commercial factories (perfume, paper), with pressure to buy more things.
Summary: if you're an independent traveler who's not afraid to say "no", this trip will be worth your while, because the sights themselves (museum and pyramids) are beautiful. If you tend to fall into tourist traps and buy stuff you end up not needing, stay away.

A very very long and tiresome day - The bus is meant for very small people and the trip to Cairo was approx. 8 hours long (not 5-6). If you’re taller than 1,75 it is not possible to fit your legs behind the seat in front of you.
Drivers were really helpful and professional though.
The guide was friendly and likely very knowledgeable- but unfortunately extremely difficult to understand. His command of English so limited that we understood less than half of his sentences.
Level of information during the trip was critically low and guide seemed to be in constant hurry without explaining why or for what.
The lunch “restaurant” is a canteen where there were multiple black hairs on the “clean” plates and inside the food itself.
The papyrus place is not a museum, but a shop.
The perfumerie was a very good experience with charming and informed staff
At the end of the day, when everyone was really tired, the whole bus had to wait for two people who had booked a boat trip. This was an unwelcome surprise that delayed the departure for another hour.
All in all 22 hours of which maybe 3-4 were enjoyable and in line with expectations…

Whole experience was nothing as described! Also NOT NEW (GEM) museum - don’t get caught out! - From start to end the whole trip was nothing as described. Pick up time came 45 mins earlier (bear in mind pick up was 1.30am! So no make up/hair done (great start!)
On seeing our transport - also not as described.. old mini transport van with 8 guests already inside! (Description was 8 MAX) only seats were at the back, had no padding on seats; no headrests; no seatbelts; and no working air-con (those at front said they could feel it, want filtering to the back! No suitable for a 6hr each way journey at all!
On arrival, we went to old museum - even though driver told us we were going to new GEM. Met the ‘Egyptologist’ aka saleswomen/guide at museum - who evaded answering if we were going to the GEM the whole time. She put our English group of 10 with another minibus of Russians and took us around the museum as one group, translating in both English & Russian this was a disaster and meant we didn’t understand half she was saying. Also we spent a total of 1hr 15m here (30 min free time) so around 20 mins total of her giving us some history (which was also quite basic)
Same at pyramids and sphinx not the time described we had 2hr total see both. More time was spent on boat ride (not advertised in trip description) and the oil shop; and papyrus shop and lunch (which was ok, but we were left for 10-15m as a group outside waiting for the tour guides to each their lunch! (Not ok at all!) also the saleswomen was very rude if you didn’t buy/go on these extras and told you to wait in minivan.
Cherry on the cake for me. Realising the whole time that they had paid half price for all my sons admissions tickets (child price) despite making me pay as an adult for him!
Also the tour guide will tell you that if you want to go in pyramid you need to pay her 10 dollars extra (& before you go down to pyramids as you can’t pay once inside) total lie as once inside, there is a QR code you can scan outside the pyramid for entry at 280egp! Just money-making scam artists and would advise nobody to buy this tour! Much better tour operators out there.. do your research people, I wish I had more thoroughly.
