Memorable Afternoon - What a wonderful afternoon we spent with Miguel as he shared his knowledge and passion for his hometown of Girona. To begin with, Miguel’s flexibility was incredible as we had some train issues from Barcelona and ended up arriving much later than anticipated. He was able to still accommodate us and provided a tour with an emphasis on the Jews of Girona. The town’s history was fascinating and the sites both beautiful and interesting. It was a memorable afternoon spent with Miguel. Highly recommend any tour with him!

Mike was an excellent Girona tour guide - Mike’s tour of Girona was absolutely excellent! He was so knowledgeable, both as a native and local, as well as having a rich knowledge of the overall and Jewish history of Girona. Mike was very friendly and having taken tours in many of the 30 countries I’ve visited, one of the absolute best. Thank you, Mike!

Jewish Colorado couple in Girona - We enjoyed tremendously our tour with Mike as a guide. He obviously has a vast knowledge of Girona's history and Jews part in particular. And he was happy to share as much information with us as we were ready to absorb. His narrative was factual but not boring, his stories were educational and sometimes humorous. At the same time he was attentive to our questions and interests. Highly recommended! The tour is about 3 hours total and includes 1 hour in the Museum of Jewish history.

Great tour! Great guide! - Ona was a fantastic guide! Not only did we get a great overview of the Jewish history of the city, but we got a general tour of the overall city as well. Very worth the day trip from Barcelona.

Wonderful tour of the Jewish Quarter - This past week, my wife and I enjoyed an excellent tour of the Girona Jewish Quarter. Our guide, Mike (or Miguel) is extremely knowledgeable about both the general history and the medieval Jewish history of the area. The Old City of Girona is beautiful and atmospheric; it was used to film scenes from Game of Thrones. And the still evident signs of medieval Jewish life in the area is absolutely fascinating. In short, this is a highly worthwhile and enjoyable tour.

Good Introduction To The Jewish History Of Girona….. - During our 4 day stay in Barcelona, my wife and I decided to make a side trip to Girona so we could see the Old Town and remnants of their Jewish community. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: - Our guide, Ona, walked us through the Medieval Old Town of Girona with an emphasis on items of Jewish interest. She offered lots of anecdotes and stories about various historical people and places along the way. - The most time…1 out of the 3 hour tour…was spent at the Jewish Museum which was certainly worth the visit. - Ona was friendly so we were also able to get to know her on a personal level. Our train got a late start (30 minutes) so I reached her by phone and made simple arrangements to meet. - Cost of the tour was very reasonable…$98 for 2 people. Cons: - Girona is about 40 miles northeast of Barcelona using the high speed train. That might not be a con. In fact, I like trains. But the train station in Barcelona is huge and a zoo. - While Ona was full of information, her accent was quite strong which made understanding her words a bit difficult when she spoke more quickly at times. All in all, it was a worthwhile tour and one we will not forget.

Good, But Could Have Been More - There was a small group with the guide, a young woman who has obviously studied the subject. The tour was lovely and informative, but I also thought that Ona wasn't always on topic. She'd just chat for periods of time. I'm not sure if there just wasn't enough to fill the 3 hours, or if she was perhaps bored of leading this tour. Despite that, she did show us interesting points about the Jewish Quarter, The Call, and amplified what we could learn at the museum. I wish there had been a bit more about the colorful houses along the river, the history of the city itself, and the Eiffel Bridge that was unfortunately covered with a sports team's banners while we were there. I'm seeing online that there are eleven bridges in Girona. She didn't speak of this at all. And I didn't learn that the bridge we saw was the Eiffel Bridge from her, but rather from another tourist. The tour was enjoyable and informative, but could have been more.
