- High Country Salmon - Visit High Country Salmon, a local salmon farm, where you can enjoy feeding the fish and savor some of the freshest salmon in New Zealand.
- Aoraki Mount Cook National Park Visitor Centre - Enjoy lunch at a charming hotel with a stunning location and views. The hotel is perfectly situated to offer excellent views of Mount Cook Glaciers. Mt Cook, New Zealand’s tallest mountain, was instrumental in Sir Edmund Hillary’s climbing training for Everest. The Muller Hut Route is temporarily closed for day walkers. If you have a reservation at Mueller Hut, you may still use the track and hut. Mount Cook village is the main gateway to Aoraki Mount Cook National Park — several short walks and overnight hikes begin from the village. It’s also worth visiting for the pristine night sky and activities like boat tours and heli hikes to the Tasman Glacier and hiking the Hooker Valley track.
- Hooker Valley Track - At dawn, the track offers a view of the first rays of the sun illuminating the Southern Alps, including New Zealand’s highest peak, Aoraki/Mount Cook.
- Tasman Glacier - The best spot for scenic photography of Tasman Glacier viewpoint. Enjoy the easy 1-hour walk - don’t forget your camera! (The glacier is in the distance behind a lake). This is a major attraction to enjoy quality time while at Mt Cook.
- Lake Pukaki - Lake Pukaki is another stunning glacial lake, famous for its dazzling turquoise waters, panoramic views, scenic drives, and photography, as well as its proximity to Mount Cook, New Zealand’s highest peak. The views of Mt Cook are truly spectacular. The blue (turquoise) color is due to fine silt particles, or glacial flour, in the water.
- Lake Tekapo - Lake Tekapo, one of the most picturesque destinations, is located in the heart of the South Island. Known for its vibrant turquoise waters and stunning alpine scenery, it’s a popular spot for nature lovers and adventurers. The best things to do in Tekapo include visiting the Church of the Good Shepherd, snapping a photo of the Sheepdog Memorial, soaking in the Tekapo Springs, and stargazing in the Dark Sky Reserve.
- Christchurch - Conclude this memorable day with a drop-off in Christchurch, known for its English heritage, innovative rebuilding efforts, and vibrant natural scenery. It’s time to relax in New Zealand’s Garden City and learn about the history of Quake City with its rapid engineering approach to rebuilding efforts.
Now it’s time to relax and unwind. Thank you for joining us — and until next time, kia ora and safe travels!
