Highly recommended - The experience was amazing. Very hands on for us all. (Suitable for children around 5 or 6.) Went for a tour through the small village while our oil was cooking. Very informative. Got to take home our finished product. Recommended to our driver he add to his list for others to experience.

Just book it now! - This was a wonderful activity right from the pickup from our hotel, you are taken to a traditional Balinese community where you are greeted by Puta the wife of Kadek your chauffeur for the tour. 4 generations live together in their community. Puta assisted by her sister take you through all the stages of making your coconut oil starting by removing the husk of the coconut draining the coconut milk and splitting open the coconut, the flesh of the coconut is then grated and added to the coconut milk some water is added and then this is boiled which releases the oils, the mixture is strained to take out the coconut flesh and once again boiled which releases the oils which floats on top of the mixture, the oil is blown off the surface of the mixture and finally stained to give you the oil, which you strain into a glass bottle for you to take away with you. At all stages of the process, you are encouraged to be hands on which makes it something special. Puta also does traditional Balinese cooking classes so this could be incorporated with the coconut oil making class. We actually added a silver making class to our trip where we both made a silver ring of our choice, this was another special class and the results are fantastic who knew it was possible to actually hand make your own piece of jewellery under the guidance of your skilful silversmith, the rings are truly hand made the only machinery used is to roll your silver ingot to width and thickness all the markings are carried out with hand tools. Don’t worry you get to practice before you attempt your actual ring and you will be amazed with the result. Both activities will provide you with special memories of your trip to Bali and this tour is wonderfully organised from start to finish. Just book it you won’t regret it

Cultural experience, a little off the beaten track. - We visited a traditional Balinese village and spent time with the host and his family in their home. They were lovely and accommodating, explained about their culture and the village life aswell as how to prepare the coconut for making oil. We received snacks, water and a little tour. If you are interested in going a little off the beaten track and out of the busy central Ubud area and see countryside then this activity will suit you.

Staycation with family - The first time I stayed at Grand Dafam Braga Bandung , I was able to see the comments of the guests who have stayed here and ⁇ everyone . The service was very friendly and very good especially from the Shafira tea in the Guest Relations Officer section, had a time to talk in the restaurant and received Recommendations regarding the tour in the hall. A lot of menu options too

Recommend - It was a unique and exotic experience that can only be done with the locals in Bali. It was special because we made the oil using traditional methods. It was great to explore the local homes of Balinese people while making the oil.
