Day 1: Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Tam Coc- Bai Dinh- Trang An

Tam Coc - The tour from Hanoi to Ninh Binh begins at 7:00 AM to avoid city traffic and to be among the first at tourist sites, ahead of the usual 8:00 AM departure of most tour buses. The journey involves a 2-hour drive in a car or mini-van from bustling Hanoi to the tranquil province of Ninh Binh, about 100 kilometers away. The first stop on the Ninh Binh tour is Tam Coc, a recent addition to UNESCO’s heritage list, often called the “Halong Bay on land” due to its breathtaking scenery. It is truly a sight to behold.

Bai Dinh Pagoda - Upon arrival, guests check into the hotel and prepare for an immersive experience in Vietnam’s countryside. There are two options for exploring Ninh Binh: cycling or riding as a passenger on a motorcycle. The journey winds through serene villages nestled in limestone karst valleys. The scenic country roads lead to Hoa Lu, Vietnam’s ancient capital, over a thousand years old. Visitors then explore Bai Dinh Temple, one of Southeast Asia’s largest Buddhist temples, featuring 10,000 Buddha statues and impressive wooden and stone architecture, set against a stunning mountain backdrop. After lunch at a local restaurant, the tour continues to Trang An for a 3-hour rowing boat trip to discover the natural and cultural UNESCO heritage. The day concludes with a return to the hotel for an overnight stay and an authentic Vietnamese dinner.

Day 2: Tam Coc- Bich Dong – Mua Cave- Hanoi

Bich Dong Pagoda - Following an early breakfast, the day starts with an early rowing boat trip, likely making the group the first visitors of the day. This allows for a peaceful experience of the area’s natural and cultural beauty before the arrival of numerous tourists. It’s an ideal way to witness a morning in the life of local residents. The journey passes through underground caves and local villages along the Red River Delta. The landscape, with its lush green rice paddies during the growing season and surrounding limestone karsts, offers stunning photo opportunities for enthusiastic photographers.

Mua Caves - Another bike adventure enhances the Ninh Binh experience. The motorcycle journey ventures through the highways and byways of Ninh Binh, passing rice paddies, farms, and villages to experience the daily life of Vietnamese countryside residents. A stop is made at the ancient stone temple of Thai Vi. Climbing the natural great wall of Mua Mountain and exploring Mua Cave provides the best panoramic views of the area and a visit to the ancient cave temple of Bich Bong. After lunch with a local family, the Ninh Binh motorbike tour concludes, returning to Hanoi around 4:00 PM.
