We felt like we were with longtime friends - Dinner with Jessica and Eon last night was magical. Eon, the host of the local TV cooking show "The Singing Chef," and Jessica both have deep roots in Guyana, spanning many generations. Sharing a meal at their home was a delightful experience. If you visit Georgetown, this is a must-do. You won't be disappointed by their warm hospitality, beautiful gathering space, great music, yummy dishes, and friendly demeanor. We enjoyed Bruno and Stormsy, too.

Highly recommend! - First off, it was an incredibly welcoming, inclusive atmosphere where you could sit back, relax and enjoy yourself! Eon John and Jess are incredible hosts and incredible advocates for the Guyanese people and culture.
The food! From the rum and juice drink to the salad to the dinner with ingredients from their own garden to the dessert... An incredible experience!
It was a great night learning about Guyana, the people, their experiences in Guyana and, to top it off, Eon John's songs and his voice! Loved it! We laughed, almost cried and have an amazing memory to take with us and share!

what an amazing night - must do in Georgetown - Thank you Eon and Jessica for a beautiful dinner. All of the food was incredible - pumpkin soup with bitter melon, the ocean trout and breadfruit fritter, the coconut creme pat. And we are still raving about the fruit plate and guava juice. Wonderful conversation, beautiful music, and an unforgettable evening. I'd recommend dinner in the secret garden to anyone visiting Guyana. We can't wait to return!

An unforgettably & enjoyable experience. - Wow wow wow & wow. The hosts, Eon and Jessica are so nice. They made us feel welcomed from the first moment we stepped in. The food was meticulously prepared and presentation was artistic. This is more like a South American/Caribbean Michelin experience!!
The booking process was the most straightforward. Jessica is faultless when it comes to communication and replying to messages, concerns or questions.
I would happily and confidently recommend this place as part of your Guyanese experience. It won't be complete without this dinner and talented musical entertainment.

A romantic and memorable backyard dinner experience - MUST TRY!! - First, I would like to start this review by saying thank you to for making our experience special and memorable. It was my first time back in Guyana in roughly 15 years, and I decided to bring my new fiancee with me to my country and attend this private dinner experience. The hosts, including the Singing Chef, were incredibly accommodating and accommodated our arrival requests with no issues. Upon arriving, they greeted us and brought us to the backyard, where the chef was preparing our dishes. The dishes were prefix and super delicious!! That pumpkin soup app with the bitter melon caviar in the middle is something serious! The main course, which was a trout, was also very delicious and juicy, and the coconut mousse dessert - oh man, my fiancee keeps raving about it - we would come back to Guyana just for that! They entertained us with some captivating stories about their journeys in Guyana and their look ahead for what's to come next - I love the future plans and can't wait to see you guys again in the future. Finally, we were serenaded with a few lovely songs to complement the evening and commemorate my engagement with my fiancee - that was a nice touch, and we appreciate it. Overall, we really enjoyed this experience - they are incredible hosts, and we had a wonderful time with them. I highly recommend this dinner experience to everyone in the Georgetown area.

Best of Guyana Tour 2023- Brunch was incredible -
Dear Jessica and Eon,
I am now back in London.
I just wanted to take a few moments to thank you both for the wonderful hospitality you extended to those of us who had the pleasure of your company during the Best of Guyana Tour 2023.
From the 7 Curry meal to the Sunday Brunch, you exceeded expectations. Your ambiance in the backyard setting was just perfect!
The combination of fresh beverages, Pomeroon coffee, local dishes and tropical fruits, all delicately folded into song left each of us with a 'feelgood experience', uniquely yours.
On the strength of your contributions and the other components of our tour, we will be back!
Best regards,
Rod (Westmaas)

Cool concept, but room for improvement - I vacationed in Guyana for the first time. I booked this because it would allow me to have a home-cooked meal. The meal consisted of a grilled fish fillet, vegetable, side, and salad.
Additionally, I expected there to be singing throughout the 2 - 2.5 hour activity. The host sung four songs.
Given that there is a two-ticket minimum, I invited a local friend with me who is from the area. I was asked by the hostess' wife "Is this your husband/boyfriend." I responded he's a friend. I was then asked, "Who is he to you? How did you meet?" I responded, "He's a friend." It was clear I did not want to answer further; yet, the host/hostess asked six more times throughout the dinner. When my friend gave an additional response, the host asked, "Is that the truth?" I had my reasons for why I did not want to answer a personal question about my private life for the host/hostess as well as the other guests at the event. My friend did answer the question vaguely, but truthfully. However, it was none of their business and the uneccesary prying made the experience aggravating.

Not worth it ! - I was a bit disappointed with this experience, from the reviews I expected more. Eon and Jennifer were both excellent host but the food and decor was not the best.....For the cost,I would skip this!

DO NOT RECOMMEND THE SINGING CHEF - Very unpleasant experience. I led a group of over 20 people for a family reunion in Guyana. I have been in contact with Jessica for several months and confirmed our choice of three menu options. The day before it was reduced to two options and when we arrived one option. All that was offered was pumpkin soup and rainbow trout— and a vegetarian option of aubergine was thrown in. Several people do not eat trout nor are they vegetarians. There was nothing else as I was told they had nothing more in their fridge. In a restaurant you do not offer only one protein, unless it was agreed upon before.
The majority of the group stayed as they told me they could not be bothered to move to find another place— and luckily most of them ate trout. Five of us left. The chef was very defensive and somewhat aggressive towards me as he tried to blame me for their error. Moreover, you do not talk to customers like that. There was no apology.
The area is very dark and we had a difficult time finding the place on Foreshaw Street. Looking at the premises overall, it did not look Inviting.
The group did not have top reviews of The Singing Chef but they did like the chef’s singing.
