Highlights
  • Zielony Most - Our MP, offers a spectacular view to the Main Town’s Long Embankment.
  • Green Gate (Brama Zielona) - How come we have a water gate in Gdansk that resembles a town hall in a famous city on Flanders?
  • Crane - We will see it from a distance as a fortified water gate and we will also walk under its treadwheel mechanism.
  • Museum of the Polish Post Office - Museum of Gdansk - Our only stop in Old Town, it’s a ww2 memorial.
  • St. Mary’s Church - We’ll walk around it and experience incredible theater of figures show held inside, in the transept.

  • Golden Gate (Zlota Brama) - We will meet in the area and cross into the Main Town through this landmark Renaissance gate.
  • Main Town Hall - Museum of Gdansk - We are going to appreciate this landmark from three angles and hopefully, we are going to hear carillon bells from its tower.
  • Dwor Artusa - Where did the wealthiest merchants go to unwind?
  • Neptune’s Fountain (Fontanna Neptuna) - Another landmark in the most representative part of Gdańsk.

What does the Main Town Gdansk Walking Tour have in store for you?

The tour, which is quite reasonably priced, serves as the perfect gateway to understanding the essence of Old Gdansk. Your guide aims to strike the right chord between engaging storytelling and educating you about the city’s rich history. The city has seen the highs of enormous wealth and the lows of immense suffering, periods of devastation and rebuilding, stunning displays of fireworks and disastrous fires, eras of acceptance and periods of discrimination, and times of optimism and hopelessness.

What is the number of states that fought for its control?
Who were the inhabitants of Gdańsk over the centuries?
Why did the Crusaders make their presence felt here?

Not only will I endeavor to respond to these critical questions, but I will aim to do so in a manner that is lively and enjoyable.

The best tour to start your stay in Gdańsk! - Amazing experience with a fun and knowledgeable tour guide, we believe his name was Martin but might be wrong sorry! A gentleman with longer gray hair. It was actually our 2nd time in Gdańsk this time visiting with my girlfriend and parents in law and we were not disappointed as we have managed to learn new things too as the tour route was slightly adjusted especially due to ongoing work on the pier. If you want to learn a lot about Polish local history this is the tour for you. I'm only surprised the price per person is so low for the quality offered here. All the best, your Scottish fans ❤️

Don’t let the affordable price fool you; this walking tour’s quality is top notch! - Normally I prefer to go on walking tours when I first reach a new city. For my trip to Gdańsk, however, most of my plans revolved around the shipyard and I wasn’t able to participate in a walking tour until shortly before my flight. I am SO glad that I was able to squeeze this tour into my itinerary. It was the perfect way to round out my experience of Gdańsk. Martin was an extremely pleasant and energetic guide. Whether it’s your first day in Gdańsk or your last, this is definitely an affordable (but beneficial and educational) tour to go on!
