• Lymington & Keyhaven Marshes - This walk will trace the Lymington River and the seawall to Oxey Marsh, offering stunning views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight, Hurst Castle, and The Needles. The return journey via the ‘ancient highway’ and Normandy Lane provides ample opportunities to delve into the rich history of the marshes. Lymington-Keyhaven Marshes allow visitors to observe a variety of bird species up close, along with an abundance of unique flora and fauna. Each visit is unique, as the New Forest coast presents breathtaking views and chances for unforgettable wildlife experiences. Participants will also explore the marshes’ diverse history, from the Iron Age to the peak of the salt industry, and the significant role the area played during the Second World War, interwoven with stories of smuggling, imprisoned kings, and invasions! The walk will be at a leisurely pace, allowing plenty of time to appreciate the surroundings and discover the wildlife that appears.
