- Shop Street - We will stroll down the lively Shop Street, visiting various pubs to sample excellent Irish Whiskeys. Shop Street is Galway City’s main shopping thoroughfare, featuring brightly colored storefronts, pubs, and well-preserved brick buildings. Lynch’s famous 16th-century Castle is also located here. The street is bustling with shoppers, dancers, musicians, tourists, and performers, creating a bohemian atmosphere. You’ll find old family retailers, chain stores, face painting stations, and human statues.

- Galway’s Latin Quarter - Known as the cultural heart of the city, it hosts many family-run shops, pubs, restaurants, and hotels, along with historic landmarks, events, and attractions. It’s a favorite spot for both locals and tourists. Enjoy a unique, festive atmosphere as you stroll through the mainly pedestrianized cobblestone streets filled with street performers and entertainers.

Join our whiskey expert, who will guide you walking around the bustling, colourful streets of Galway City, visiting some of the oldest and most traditional bars of the city. Learn the art of how to analyse Irish whiskey through visual examination, taste and aroma. On this tour we visit five specially selected taverns, each with its own unique char, to discover and sample the best that Irish Whiskey has to offer. Whilst smelling the aromas and tasting some of these fine spirits, your knowledgeable Irish Whiskey guide will supply great insights and understanding into Irish Whiskeys’ rich history, past and present. Starting in O’Connell’s pub on Galway city’s central Eyre Square, we then walk down famous Shop Street and onto McCambridge’s, Kings Head, Freeny’s and Neachtain’s pubs, learning and appreciating more about this proudly Irish spirit as we go. We will finish the tour on a high by meeting the 6th generation Irish potin and Whiskey maker Micil.
