Gallipoli is a charming fishing town that gained prominence through the export of olive oil. In medieval times, this oil was not used for culinary purposes, but for something else entirely, which you will discover! - Sannicola - A stop in this quaint village allows for a visit to a 17th-century underground olive mill.
- Galatone - Traveling along scenic secondary roads, surrounded by olive trees and traditional dry stone structures (trulli and pajare), we arrive at Galatone. Here, you’ll find the impressive Norman castle, the Church of the Crucifix—a masterpiece of Leccese baroque style—and the noble palace.
- Porto Selvaggio - Porto Selvaggio is a beautifully preserved natural park with crystal-clear waters that invite you to take a dip! Fresh spring water mingles with the sea here. We pause for a swim and a lunch break.
- Museo Civico Messapico - Dive into Messapian culture through ancient tombs and a meticulously curated museum exhibition.

First stop is at Alezio for a tasting in a cheese farm, then we go on to Tuglie for the amazing Radio Museum (all the items, including telegraphs, are still in working order!) or for the Museum of Rural Life. Heading back toward the coast, in the Porto Selvaggio Natural Reserve we have a picnic lunch (not included) in the shade of the pine forest and, for those who feel like it, a refreshing swim in the cool spring waters. On the way back to Gallipoli we stop in Santa Caterina to taste one of the best ice cream of the region (they’re specialized in “salty pistacchios”, “almond and figs” and “chocolate cream”). We arrive in Gallipoli by the sunset.
