- Wear light shoes in the summer, hiking boots for the winter season
- Towels, flip-flops and a dark swimming suit due the iron origin of the thermal waters or alternatively a old one are recommended for the hot springs baths.
- Dress in layers as temperatures can change quickly. In the cooler months (November through March), bring a light sweater or jacket.
- Please arrange beforehand for vegetarian options
- Pregnant women and people with low blood pressure or any other medical condition should consult a phisician before using the thermal pools

Excellent Excursion - This excursion was incredible. Herve was a very knowledgeable and super fun. The sight seeing was great and dinner was excellent. It was worth the cost for sure.

Fantastic - The activity exceeded our expectations. We loved the views, the dinner with the traditional Portuguese cozido and the fantastic thermal baths.
The highlight was our wonderful guide, Eduardo. He’s super knowledgeable, friendly and really enriched this experience. We recommend this to anyone.

A trip to remember! - Filipe was an awesome guide took us to some incredible sites. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and offered to take pictures for us.
Our trip to the hot springs was cancelled because of the government shutting them down but Filipe made up for it with some additional stops!
We didn’t feel like we missed out on anything. The meal was amazing and the night time tour of the Calederas with the spring water and tea was one of the highlights!
Thanks for making our vacation one to remember!
If you’re on the fence, do this tour and ask for Filipe as your guide, he is the best!

Hot springs at night - An almost mystical experience! - Nighttime bathing in the hot springs is the highlight of an impressive tour. Our guide Eduardo picked us up on time right in front of the hotel and led us in a perfectly comfortable minibus to various viewing spots, which rewarded us with wonderful views and photo motifs into a sometimes breathtaking landscape. During the trip Eduardo told us a lot of interesting facts about the program, the island, nature, the hot springs and their history. After a rich traditional dinner we continued into the mountains to the sulphur springs and the geysers, at nightfall we reached the bath. There you can enjoy the bath in the hot water in several pools in an architecturally very beautiful and emotionally adapted bathing complex. In the evening in darkness the whole thing has even more mystical character. Despite the crowd, the pools were quite pleasant, so you always had enough space. We found the water temperature basically pleasant for a short time, but probably the 39 degree hot water is not suitable for all people without reservation. All in all an unforgettable excursion, also thanks to our very friendly driver Eduardo, who made the ride with his stories very entertaining!

Magical hot springs at night - This was an AMAZING experience! I highly recommend going to the Hot springs at night, they have a totally different and magical feel! Lusia was also a great tour guide!

Highly recommend! - We had Hervé and he was absolutely amazing…he was a wealth of knowledge and so personable. This tour gives you great views of furnas, great information about the local culture, history, and geography, and a delicious dinner. Our tour guide Hervé was funny, attentive and cordial. Highly recommend.

Thermal Bath Fun - Calming tour with a super friendly and knowledgeable guide. Absolutely worth it. Keep in mind it is around 6 hours but again the highlight of our trip. Thanks again!
