Eastern Madeira Private Tour - Myself, my wife and adult daughter took a private tour of the eastern half of Madeira. Our guide, Hugo, was fantastic! We visited so many areas with beautiful scenery and fantastic views that we could never have seen on our own. Hugo also gave us some great ideas for what to do on the rest of our vacation. We were so impressed with their team and our experience that we ended up booking another Hit the Road Madeira tour for later in the week! Highly highly recommend.

My Tours in Aug & Sep‘24 with Hit the Road Madeira - I finally want to express my heartfelt thanks to the entire Hit the Road Madeira team. In August and September ’24, I had again the pleasure of joining them for various tours again. These included 2 Tasca Tours, 1 Espetada Tour, 1 Sunset Tour, 1 East Tour, and a private Secret Sunrise Tour. 😯😊 Wow, really 6 tours? 😉 Throughout all these experiences, I truly felt that Jeff and his team made a special effort to connect with each of us individually while also bringing the whole group together. This creates a wonderful shared time and memory by the end of the day/tour. Each guide and also Jeff shares a lot of interesting facts and knowledge about Madeira, making every moment engaging. Even when it comes to the lunch time or for a Poncha 😉, they choose restaurants that are not overrun by tourists, offering a more authentic experience. For those new to Madeira, I highly recommend the food tours (Tasca Tour or Espetada Tour). You have the chance to explore local restaurants and bars and see it through the eyes of a local while sampling incredibly delicious food and drinks. A huge thank you this time to Jeff for my private secret sunrise Birthday tour, to Hugo for the Sunset Tour, and to Fabio for the food tours and the East Tour. And one last thing… I’M COMING BACK!!! 😁🤩😍 …I promise! 😉

Another Great Day Out - This is out 10th visit to Madeira and I’ve lost count of the number of times we take a tour with Hit The Road but as always it’s a brilliant day out and the best way to see the island. Once again our driver/guide/companion was Hugo who knowledge of the island is second to none. But then I guess that what comes from being a local. Not does he manage to chase the sun and avoid the rain, he also manages to avoid the crowds and rental cars. Something that la becoming increasingly more difficult. Wee today he surpassed himself, we arrived at the Fanal forest only to be met be a sea of rental cars (see first image) but Hugo knows a spot and manages to park away from the cars and right by the forest. Hugo also appears to know everyone on the island, every time we stopped at a bar he’s greater like a member of the family and you end up getting the best service and the best drinks. If you want to get the best out of the island, forget the rental car and book a toor with Hit the Road and ask for Hugo.

Great way to explore the Island. Excellent guides. - We booked a private tour for 4 people. We have booked with hit the road before and had an excellent experience. We toured the West of the Island and our driver Tiago put a route together in conjuction with our requests. Tiago was an excellent guide, lots of information and we stopped at many beautiful locations missing the crowds. We had an extent lunch at Calheta Green restaraunt and finished the tour off with traditional poncha at A Vendra da Andre. Our thanks to Tiago for a wonderful Derulo day.

Fantastic tour of Madeira - Hugo was a great tour guide. We learned so much about Madeira- history and current events. We saw so much of the Island and visited a bunch of secret spots. It is an incredibly special Island. Hugo was very careful to stay away from the overcrowded spots and yet, we dod not miss anything we wanted to see. We would highly recommend Hit the Road as great tour guides of Madeira.

A Relaxed Fun Day with Hugo - We were on our first visit to Madeira and found ‘Take the High Road Madeira’ on YouTube and liked their videos and recommendations. We booked a private trip and it was exactly as we wanted. Hugo ensured we saw the most important views and scenery and we certainly ate the finest lunch (Michelin quality) without the fussiness and drank amazing ponchos. The day was fun and thoroughly recommended as a way to learn what this wonderful island has to offer!

A Day to Remember! - What an incredible experience with the amazingly talented Hugo with Hit The Road Tours. We began early with a coffee and finished late in the day with a Poncha! The sights and sounds of the day included a depth of cultural immersion I did not expect to find within a tour company. I'm so grateful for the hours spent exploring the backroads and communities found off the beaten path. At times, I felt as if we were the only ones on the island! We were welcomed with open arms everywhere we went. I tasted rum made from sugar cane (do you sense a theme here? Not that I drink!), crushed eucalyptus leaves in my hands for the healing aromas, walked along cliff edges and ocean byways, talked with local folks who shared history and customs, enjoyed a fabulous lunch in a choice surfing spot, travelled from sea level to mountain top, and had the time of my life!! I can hardly wait to return and continue my adventures with Hit the Road Tours!!! Thanks to you Hugo and your trusty "Beast" for the adventure of a lifetime. ~Laura

Secret Sunrise Tour with Hit The Road Tours. - My wife and I went on The Secret Sunrise Tour with Jeff. It was an awesome experience, well thought out and very relaxing. Jeff’s knowledge of the island is simply amazing.His attention to detail is great, he even made us fresh espresso (wonderfully delicious) on top of the peak. It doesn’t get any better than that, espresso and an awesome sunrise.He is a people person first and foremost, he made us feel like family. Jeff gets a 13 out of 10. Highlight of our trip, he went above and beyond. Looking forward to doing another Tour with you, next year. Hit the road Jeff 😆 🇵🇹
