From Paradise to Heaven and back again via Mars!!! - There are not enough words to do this review justice....
We had an incredible time on the Electric Tours with Roberto. Having originally booked the West Trip, we enjoyed it so much that before parting ways we arranged the East trip for our next available day. Both tours were thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish and a true highlight of our first ever trip to Madeira.
There was never a dull moment as Roberto had plenty of insights to share and such a vast and varied knowledge of Madeiran history, culture, politics and more, which he imparted so enthusiastically along the way that we felt we had learned so much by the end.
Roberto's love of Madeira was evident but equally his passion for providing a truly bespoke and personalised experience for others really showed from the moment we were greeted until we returned.
On a practical note, the transport was a perfect way to travel around the island in comfort. Immaculately clean, plenty of room, air con when needed and most importantly driven safely by Roberto who was also perfectly attentive with those seemingly small but significant things like ensuring we had adequate comfort breaks and were content with the temperature settings etc.
The quiet nature of the vehicle provided the ability to hear birdsong and waterfalls and also discuss the various sights en route which is something we had not considered before, but realised during the trip was actually a huge benefit and something unique which makes the Electric Tours stand out in superiority to the other open topped jeep, 4x4, bus tours.
It was very evident that that Roberto had given careful thought to his routes, to be inclusive of an eclectic mix of landscapes, seascapes, urban, rural, agricultural, areas of natural beauty etc.
We loved being shown parts of Madeira which were off the beaten track, and Roberto's dedication to avoiding tourist congestion in order to maximise our experience at each stopping point was something we truly appreciated and made the trips even more relaxed and enjoyable.
The sights were out of this world.....from quaint fishing villages with eco-friendly artistic flair to standing on top of the world in silence with a carpet of cloud at your feet, with every colour of tropical flower and fruit you can imagine along the way and some real hidden gems, it was truly the best way to see, hear, smell, touch and taste Madeira!!
Thank you Roberto for your charisma, conscientiousness and comedy....you gave us an unforgettable experience and we are so grateful!!

MUST BOOK!! - Wow wow wow…Where to even begin! We booked this private tour last minute and it was the best thing we done. We seen things on the island we never would have and now have a better understanding of how beautiful Madeira is in its landscapes and culture. The tour felt relaxed and personal, everything went at our pace. Although we seen the main sights we were taken to some quiet private spots away from the tourist traps and chaos which only added to the trips perfection.
Robbie - Thank you so much, you were knowledgeable, funny and easy going, we could have spent our whole trip with you talking about travels and flowers!! There is a certain act to making people feel so comfortable that you feel like you have always known them and you certainly have it. No ask was to big or small and you even became a photographer for the day too😉
If you are thinking of booking any tours make sure it is this one or you will have severely missed out. We couldn’t recommend enough and cannot wait to come back to see what more Madeira has to offer. Thank you so much again from your favourite Scottish girls!! 🏴

To do absolutely!!! - Superb excursion to the northwest of the island with Roberto, our enthusiastic and passionate guide, curious about the flora. Amazing trip, highly recommend - Had an amazing day with Roberto, his knowledge and passion for the island was infectious. He had a great sense of humour and made the day really enjoyable. He also adjusted the trip, allowing us to see more. It was a relaxed pace and we had plenty of time to see everything.

Do NOT miss out on this amazing tour! - Our hotel recommended Madeira Electric Tours and wow - we are beyond thankful for the introduction. It was an absolutely amazing day! We have three kids aged 10-13 and to keep them occupied can be challenging, but Roberto was informative, entertaining, and had an awesome sense of humor. We saw so much of the island and learned a ton. Being a local and speaking five+ languages allowed us access to people and the island in a way we never could have imagined. Truly bespoke. We even got to see some secret local spots that we vowed not to give away in order to preserve its natural beauty and aura. And to get around the island in a luxury, eco-friendly vehicle was the icing on the cake.
To Roberto - thank you! It will be a trip we always remember and treasure.
To those considering a tour - do not hesitate to book Madeira Electric Tours! You will be thrilled!

Excellent tour, gregarious and knowledgeable guide, comfortable vehicle, personal service. - This tour company was recommended to us by Rosie, the tourism manager in our hotel, Quintinha Sao Joao (terrific family run hotel). She divined our wishes perfectly and booked us with Roberto for a tour of the Eastern side of the island. Roberto, our gregarious driver and guide, picked us up promptly at our hotel in his all electric Mercedes people carrier which has a maximum capacity of 7 passengers, so all the tours are with a small party. The advantage of having a small people carrier instead of a large coach cannot be overstated. Roberto likes to drive with the windows open (the vehicle is practically silent) so the smells and sounds of his beloved island illustrate his references to the abundant fauna and flora. It's like a magic carpet. His commentary is entirely spontaneous (and copious :-) but stands in sharp contrast to the script style delivery from the Coach tour companies, and of course, you can ask questions! Look out points and roadside photo opportunities are far superior since his smaller vehicle can access areas of the island others simply cannot. The lunch venue was pre-booked so no waiting for a table and the menu was full of genuine Madeiran dishes at reasonable prices. The route is entirely flexible so if there is something you want to see that is not on his normal tour route, then no problem. We had a great day with Roberto and really felt we had got a grip of the history, culture and abundant flora of the island....and had a laugh while doing it. In fact, we enjoyed it so much we immediately booked the tour for the western half of the island when we returned to the hotel. If you are lucky he will demonstrate his beloved telescopic avocado harvesting device en-route by slyly pirating a few that overhang the road :-)

Tour Madeira in Italian - An unforgettable trip to Madeira with an exceptional Italian guide! Roberto is very nice, prepared and punctual, the tour was organized at best. Comfortable transport and perfect sightseeing, all in Italian, for a dream day!

Madeira Tours superior! - Last week my partner and I booked 3 tours with Madeira Electric Tours: the west tour, the east tour and a tour to the Nuns Valley. All 3 brilliant!
Our guide Roberto picked us up every day at our hotel on time.
Roberto is a very friendly person, full of enthusiasm he tells about the beautiful nature of the island. He stops on the way to show us the flowers/trees. Roberto is a very pleasant person in dealing. He also knows a lot about Madeira.
Roberto responds to the wishes of the guests. In addition, he does not take the standard routes, but the more unknown and fun roads. That makes the tours extra fun! He also takes into account the weather conditions on the island and responds accordingly.
During the tours we sat in an electric Mercedes passenger bus, which was very comfortable and very pleasant.
Certainly not insignificant if you are on the road for about 7/8 hours.
Roberto, thanks for the unforgettable beautiful days!

Fantastic! - My partner and I booked this tour last minute and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience in Madeira.
Roberto (who is South African) was punctual and collected us from the Savoy, his enthusiasm and friendly manner set the tone for the day, we travelled in a extremely comfortable, silent electric EQV Mercedes, driving up, the many hills effortlessly, while stopping to hear the local birdsong and appreciating the abundance of flora and fauna.
The lunch venue he booked for us was incredible and we hope to return soon to see more of this beautiful island.
Thank you Roberto for creating such a wonderful memory for us.
