Can't wait to go back - Madeira is easy to sum up. It has friendly people, amazing scenery and delicious food. Everywhere we sat down to eat did not disappoint. Food, service and value were excellent. The only thing to be wary of is that some of the yellow taxis will overcharge if they have no meter showing, or you don't do a fare check first. I eventually stopped using them and used Uber instead

A trip not to be forgotten was particularly worthwhile. - Great experience, was told a lot and have seen whales and dolphins several times. A lot was told at the end. The people also respected the peace for the animals.

Time well spent. - A very enjoyable afternoon trip rewarded with sightings of Pilot Whales and Bottle Nose Dolphins. The crew were helpful and the talk about the Whales and Dolphins was informative and interesting especially the fact that they sleep with one half of their brain whilst the other half takes control. I wish I could do that! It also came across that the crew were mindful of conservation and that these animals kept in captivity is unnatural and cruel.

We went into the open... - We went into the open ocean and then near some cliffs and a remote village. We received some interesting facts about the place. Unfortunately we couldn't see any whales or dolphins. Take some medication with you if you might get sea sick, because the boat does move a lot from the waves if the weather is not ideal. It was an interesting experience, but the ride was a bit too long for my taste, given that I got sea sick, it was cold and very windy (there is no enclosed space on the boat) and didn't get to see the whales or dolphins.

Worth going but some safety concerns - We took the whale watching trip after a recommendation from friends. The experience was OK and we did see pilot whales and bottle nosed dolphins early in the voyage. It would have helped to have had a briefing on what to look out for before we sailed - even a simple card with species is better than nothing. Our concerns were that the crew took a rather too informal attitude to safety - I expected a proper briefing about boat safety rather than a short announcement - and they allowed young children to run around the boat without any supervision. There was no real help embarking and disembarking up what was quite a step onto / off the jetty. My wife tripped and fell; although the staff helped her up, we have had a much more attentive approach on other similar trips elsewhere.

Save your money - Nort only was the trip very boring, the sea was so choppy. I felt very sick and lots of people were sick. We did not see dolphins or whales which is fine as they are wild animals. The 1st hour and a half was riding into really big waves just trying not to puke. Thank god the hour back was less choppy. I didn't enjoy it and couldn't recommend. £60 for myself and my husband for an extremely boring, puke inducing trip.
