Relaxed and interesting tour - My wife and I went on this all day tour. We rode in a fairly new, air conditioned, minibus, which was safely driven by Bruno, who was also our guide. During the day we visited some beautiful parts of East Madeira, each step of which had an informative bi-lingual commentary from Bruno. The twisting roads could be a challenge to a visitor, but we never felt nervous with Bruno's unhurried and relaxed driving style. 7/10 for the tour. 9/10 for Bruno.

Fantastically memorable day with some breathtaking scenes - What a great day on the east of Madeira. Having used Lido tours last year on the 25 fontes levada walk, I knew we would be in safe hands from booking to pick ups it went very smooth. Our guide had great knowledge of the history and the flora, pointing out lots of interesting plants along the way. Pico do Ariero was a highlight with the most breathtaking 360 views above the clouds. Santana was a nice lunch stop with the typical houses. All in all fantastic value and a great day. Would highly recommend. Also the West tour makes a great day out as well did that too.

It was in a... - There were very worth seeing destinations in a comfortable minibus, the driver, at the same time tour guide has conveyed a lot of interesting information about Madeira. The price/performance ratio for the tour was very reasonable.

Great experience - Great day. Picked up on time at our hotel at the RIU Madeira. Explored all east Madeira including long stops at the best view points and lunch in Santana. Guide was very informative and allowed us to get to the best stops including restaurants before the large crowds arrived. Dropped off at our hotel at the end. This was a great day. thank you Lido tours.

It was a fabulous day and... - It was a fabulous day and driver Bruno was very good in explaining thing, both English and German. The stops were brilliant and we had enough time to explore everywhere. We did not take the lunch option but had a sandwich in a bar, quick and cheap as well.

enjoyable day out with beautiful scenery - Very good day with lots of interesting information from the guide. beautiful places to visit and explore and plenty of time at each stop. The lunch time in Santana was too long at 90 minutes as its tiny and there seemed a heavy sales pitch to go to their recommended restaurant for lunch. But if you didn't want that sat around for too long which would be difficult in bad weather. overall recommended.

Choose a different company - I wanted to rate this tour higher but there were too many problems that negatively impacted the experience. Let me start by saying the tour shows many beautiful parts of the island and the guide seemed knowledgeable and friendly. But there were 2 problems. 1). The guide did not manage the seating in the bus. We were by geography the last pick up and discovered there were two families sprawled across multiple seats, leaving only separate odd middle seats apart from one another. In one instance a young man had a 2 seat bench to himself and would not allow either of us to even sit on one of the seats. The guide knows he is picking up 2 more people he should ask the families to sit together so that couples can also sit together or at least adjacent or near. When a tour is all day this becomes a negative experience. The guide should better manage where people sit. 2) the biggest problem was a microphone that either didn’t work or put out a loud staccato sound giving us all a headache. It was painful at best. The alternative was that only people near the front could hear him speak without the microphone. From halfway back and further we missed most of the information. There was no back up plan. Something as simple as a blue tooth portable speaker could have saved the day. But alas there was not one. I even texted the tour company explaining the problem and asking them to bring a new microphone system. Their response was that they didn’t have anyone who could do that. So if you want to sit together as a couple and have a guided tour with audio, choose a different company. The scenery is beautiful, but the tour was really a loss for us.
