Wonderful day of the tour - Beside of being crashed by a stinky fat guy all day long, the tour was fantastic. The driver was very knowledgeable and shared lots of local culture with us. It was a brilliant experience. The lavadas walk was surprising and easy walk.

Amazing landscapes - This was an amazing tour seeing spectacular landscapes, we particularly liked Porto Da Cruz. The driver gave us useful information without having a constant running historical commentary which made the whole tour very relaxing- thank you Brian. Top tip, it’s cold at the mountain stop so take a jumper!

A Thrilling Adventure - Our jeep safari through Madeira was an unforgettable experience. The tour took us off the beaten path, where we got to explore the rugged terrain, lush forests and stunning scenery. The thrill of riding through narrow, bumpy roads made it more exciting.
Our driver/guide was knowledgeable, friendly and funny; sharing facts about Madeira's history, fauna and flora.
Overall, the jeep safari was an exhilarating way to see Madeira's natural beauty. A must do tour. Highly recommended.

Day trip in east Madeira - Another excellent tour with Flora, led by the fab Tim. This tour really gave us a deeper perspective of Madeira and Tim is a good driver, knowledgeable guide and nice guy. We visited some lovely places and saw spectacular scenery and views. A great way to spend a day.

Levadas, sea cliffs, quaint houses and even a rum factory. - THIS was a day tour packed with things to see from start to finish.
Our minibus took us to the beginning of a levada walk, a stroll alongside one of Madeira's many man-made channels bringing water to villages and towns.
The walk itself was largely on the flat and very easy as well as being a nice cool route under trees on a warm day.
We visited a viewpoint, retraced our steps and then cut away down a pathway and steps to rejoin our minibus which was waiting for us.
I should mention a point here raised by other reviewers, namely the space provided in front of minibus seats. I'm 6ft and my knees were rammed so tightly into the back of the seat in front of me that I had to sit sideways until another man kindly took pity on me and suggested we swop places. It was the only negative point about the trip.
Next we went to a wonderful viewpoint at Pico de Areira where we first clambered down to a lower viewing area before walking back up to the highest point of nearly 6,000ft close to a small military radar site.
There were fascinating things to see everywhere during the day including a stone igloo which a long time ago was used to store snow and ice so rich people could have ice in their drinks in the summer.
On we went and more sightseeing followed from picturesque triangular thatched Madeiran homes to spectacular sea cliffs.
We even visited a rum factory and museum where we saw how rum was made, tried some tasting and learnt how it is an integral ingredient of the famous Madeiran drink, Poncha.
All in all this was a great day out and one I would recommend anyone to try.

Quite good but some things not as promised - The tour started by picking us up from our hotel in Caniço, which was very convenient. However, we were the last ones to board and they only had 2 seats left in the Renault Master van and they were single seats at the very back (we went as a couple). A very selfish girl sat at the front next to the driver/guide alone, on the double seats. The aircon in the van was broken, not working at all. In the morning this was not an issue, but later on in the afternoon it turned out to be a serious problem. In the van only the two front door windows can be rolled down. The selfish girl kept rolling her side up as she was bothered by the airstream that was blowing into her face, not considering the rest of the people (like 14 people) sitting in the back in the hot temperature and without much air and air movement. She was later dealt with but the lack of aircon proved to be a major inconvenience in the afternoon. The guide was friendly, helpful and nice, he is belgian so perfectly fluent in English and German and I am sure he speaks a few other languages fluently, too. He is an older bloke and had a lot of non-PC, boomer jokes, some of them sexist, etc, I was not offended but some of the younger generations might be. The first stop was absolutely pointless in our opinion, but from the second one onwards the views during the drive and at the stops were really breathtaking and amazing. The guide regularly stops at plants and trees (mainly fruits) and tells you what they are and a few info about them. Makes it very interesting. We got full cloud coverage at the top of the 2nd highest peak, so even though it was very misterious and cold (! only 10 degrees celsius, be prepared!) we got zero view from the top of the peak whatsoever. Obviously it's nothing that can be helped, it was noone's fault. The view was supposed to be spectacular. :( There was NO WIFI on board either, so prepare for that. Other than these inconveniences it was good, especially the last stop at the north-east corner of the island. Thank you for the tour!

Avoid this company. They represent everything that is bad about Madeiran hospitality. - The most awful experience we have ever had in 65 years of holidaying. Our party of 5 elderly people including an 80 year old and having paid some £145 we were asked to get off our ‘Viator’ Full Day East of Madeira Tour at the central Bus station because we complained about the lack of leg room in our seats for what was advertised as a 6 hour trip. The consequent inability of some of our party to 'buckle up' also compromised their safety. The vehicle had 22 seats with others apart from us grumbling about their 'leg room'. In contrast our West side tour a few days before at the same price also with 'Viator' had been an absolute pleasure with a knowledgeable and friendly host driving a vehicle with just 8 comfortable seats.
After picking us and others up the Driver of the East Tour spent 50 minutes driving like a ‘madman’ over ‘speed bumps’ around the centre of Funchal throwing us around in our seats without any indication as to what he was doing or what was planned. Once the driver was aware of our concerns he agreed to discuss them and our options outside of the bus. Having all got off, the Driver made a phone call, and said that another vehicle would come and pick us up and then drove off. However after 30 minutes wait with no other vehicle arriving we called the trip organiser. We were told no vehicle was coming and that we had asked to get off! We had to pay for a taxi ride back to our hotel. A full refund for a tour we did not take has not been forthcoming.
