Situated at a bay facing the Seto Inland Sea, the picturesque port town features an endearing old-fashioned fishing townscape, with a calm and laid-back atmosphere. Tomonoura prospered in the olden days of sail boats, when merchant ships traveling along the Seto Inland Sea would dock at its port while waiting for a favorable tide. Our favorite day in Japan 🇯🇵 - We did a full day private tour with Mami Mukai. She took us by taxi to Shinshoji Zen museum and garden which was spectacularly beautiful. The art pavilion was an amazing experience. We had Udon noodle lunch at the wonderful cafe on the property with special chopsticks. We then returned to Tomonoura where our ship was docked & went to a koto music & tea tasting. Lastly we sampled saki and walked to a beautiful lookout over the ocean and mountains. This was a delightful day spent with Mami Makai who was charming to be with. She planned our whole day and it was definitely our favorite day spent in Japan!! Thank you Mami for spending the day with us. We would recommend your services to everyone!!
