Beautiful tour through Miyazaki - LOTS of walking! - To start, the meeting point and instructions were very clear, and the tour group had guides ready (and early) to meet and help us to the correct bus. The bus is comfortable, and the PA system the guide used during the drive was loud and clear enough for everyone to understand. I was combined with a Chinese/English group, but the guide made sure to take enough time to explain to everyone where we were going/what to expect/etc. Overall, it was a great tour with ample time to use bathrooms, eat lunch, grab some quick gifts, and more. There were only a few times when I felt a bit hurried to get back onto the bus, but that's just part of an all-day tour that involves a long bus ride. This is *not* a light walking tour. Sure, you have the option to only go into the sites a short distance, but if you want to experience all of the destinations to their fullest, you will be walking up and down long stairs, up hilly streets, and more. I nearly went to the end of the path at every stop and did just short of 13,000 steps for the whole day. Also, be aware that in the middle of the summer, temperatures are high! Fortunately, in Japan, there are conveniently placed vending machines everywhere, so I never felt out of reach of a snack or a cold beverage. Between sites, you are on an air-conditioned, comfortable bus, and the final drive back to Hakata station was almost 3 hours... so plenty of time to rest! A special thanks to Thomas for being a wonderful guide and making sure we were all well-informed and safe during our journey!

Whirlwind tour of Takachiho Gorge and nearby temples. - A beautiful part of Japan to discover! Our guide Suki went above and beyond to make the tour enjoyable for all. I had recently broken my leg so unfortunately could not make it to all sites. In my opinion going to one shrine and having time for a sit down lunch would have improved the experience.

The tour offered a... - The tour offered a fantastic combination of scenic beauty and an enriching cultural experience. Helen was an outstanding guide, demonstrating great responsibility and attention to every detail. While the overall experience was positive, the schedule felt a bit overloaded. To enhance the trip, I'd suggest removing one stop to create a more relaxed and less hectic pace.

Beautiful, but strenuous hiking to sites. Great tour guide! - Helen, the tour guide was great! She was very careful and helped everyone on tour. The description of this tour should mention it is very strenuous. You are told this on bus when enroute to destinations. I saved my steps for the gorge. It was absolutely beautiful. There are many steps to climb and a lot of uphill and down hill. Just know this going in, and don't be surprised! It was absolutely beautiful sites. it is a long day, but my family really enjoyed all the sites.

More a shrine tour than gorge trip - Ame is an enthusiastic leader informing us about the mythology before arrival. Her English is very clear and she gave the time to return with clarity. The shrine was a pleasant surprise. The gorge is beautiful but it should not be a choice of boat or land. At the end people of the one way walk it would be nice to go on the boat while others could choose to rest. The description indicated there would be far more than 1 hour at the gorge, the main event.

Nice but short - The trip was entertaining but the stops were too short. You'd rush past everything quickly. The tour guide (herr kaki) was funny and resisted trying to give a lot of information on the side.
