Cachi

Valle de Lerma - Departing from Salta, we travel through the Lerma Valley heading south until we reach El Carril. From there, we turn west towards Quebrada del Escoipe, encountering our first breathtaking landscapes. We make technical stops along the way for bathroom breaks or to grab a snack.

Cuesta del Obispo - Experience the majestic Cuesta del Obispo and Valle Encantado, surrounded by mountains. After passing Piedra del Molino (3,400 meters above sea level), we enter Los Cardones National Park.

Parque Nacional Los Cardones - Leaving the fertile Lerma Valley, we ascend Quebrada de Escoipe and continue through the impressive Cuesta del Obispo and Valle Encantado, encircled by mountains. After Piedra del Molino (3,400 meters above sea level), we cross into Los Cardones National Park.

Valle Encantado - Visit local grocers and pass through a town where peppers are dried along the roadside.

Cachi - Arriving at the colonial town of Cachi by noon, we have 2 hours of free time to enjoy lunch and explore this unique northern Argentine town. Its cobblestone streets and adobe houses offer a glimpse into a place frozen in time, preserving its original essence. During these 2 hours, you can wander through the town’s 10 by 10 blocks and sample regional cuisine. We then regroup with the guide to start our return to Salta.

Valle de Lerma - Before reaching Salta, we make a technical stop in Chicoana or El Carril for a bathroom break or to buy a snack.

Humahuaca

Salta - Departing from Salta, we head to San Salvador de Jujuy, making technical stops for bathroom breaks or to grab a snack.

Volcan - A technical stop to use the bathroom and buy supplies.

Purmamarca - Visit the Hill of Seven Colors, one of the most iconic towns in the Humahuaca ravine.

Tilcara - Explore the town of Tilcara, home to the Pucará.

Uquia - Visit the village church and a ceramics factory.

Humahuaca - Enjoy two free hours in this iconic town of La Quebrada for lunch and sightseeing.

Maimara - A photographic stop at the Painter’s Palettes.

Huacalera - A photographic stop at the Tropic of Capricorn.

Tumbaya - A technical stop for bathroom breaks and to buy supplies.

Salta - Return to Salta, crossing the final stretch of the Quebrada de Humahuaca and its stunning landscapes. We make technical stops along the way for bathroom breaks or to buy food and drinks.

Going to Cachi, we will visit the Quebrada de Escoipe and the imposing Cuesta del Obispo. After visiting La Piedra del Molino, you will be passing through the Los Cardones National Park. The small and magical town of Cachi, located at the foot of the snow-capped mountain of the same name, is characterized by its colonial-style facades, with mansions located on the edge of narrow, cobblestone streets. We will be visiting a destination recognized as a Natural and Cultural Heritage of Humanity (UNESCO), discovering incredible landscapes and monuments, towns and cultures. We will visit unique towns such as Purmamarca, famous for the Hill of the 7 Colors, Maimará with its Painter’s Palettes, Tilcara stands out for its Pucará (high mountain fortress) whose ruins have been partially destroyed. The tour also visits Uquia and the ceramic factory and then the city of Humahuaca, whose town is the largest in the Quebrada.
