Glacier Country Helicopters is a family-owned and operated business located in Franz Josef, on New Zealand’s West Coast. The company was founded by the husband and wife duo, Gus and Poppy, in January 2014. You can often find one of them piloting flights on most days.

The Mt Cook Supreme flight offers an incredible journey over the Franz Josef, Fox, and Tasman Glaciers, leading into the Southern Alps to witness Mount Cook. This experience includes two 10-minute landings: the first on snow for photo opportunities and the second on the Shackleton Glacier. The entire experience lasts approximately 60 minutes.

To book a Comfort Seat or request a Front Seat/Executive Helicopter Upgrade, please contact the company at least 24 hours before your flight.

Please allocate an additional 45 minutes beyond your flight time for check-in, transportation to the helicopter, loading, unloading, and returning to the office.

• Please let us know if you have limited mobility e.g. injury, arthritis or recent surgery? There are two high ladder style steps into the helicopter. This information could effect what helicopter we fly you in.
• Comfort Seats: Our helicopter seats are 40cm wide, an empty seat can be reserved next to you if you prefer extra space (passengers 120KG & over when weighed at check in will be required to purchase a Comfort Seat - these are half the RRP of your flight).
