Authentic discovery - Our family went on a boat tour on Lake Mapourika with Dale on April 27 who shared his passion about rainforest, wildlife and glacier It was truly educational and inspiring We enjoyed every minute of the encounter and our 2 sons were thrilled. Thank you so much We highly recommend the tour as well as the company Franz Josef Wilderness Tour led by very authentic owner Hoping to come back to New Zealand , to Franz Josef and experience more with Wilderness Tours!

Must experience this. - The quiet lake gave a beautiful reflection. Guide Joe paid attention to our physical/medical condition. Walking sticks were provided at the start of the rainforest track. He showed and shared detailed information and passion on the fauna and flora around the lake and the rainforest, pointed out uniqueness during the cruise. Also showed us the responsible maintanence of the Rainforest trails. Interesting fantail bird followed Joe & the group through the Rainforest hike.

Great experience - It turned out that we were the only one booked for our tour, so we ended up with a private tour. Our guide/captain Nicole was great -- fun and funny, and shared a lot with us about the geology, the botany, the wildlife, and even the Maori traditions in the area. We talked about conservation, and the battle to rid New Zealand of invasive pests, and how they impact the wildlife. A nice, relaxing, and informative afternoon spent on the lake.

An Interesting Afternoon Trip - The weather wasn't kind to us but our guide Nicole made us welcome and gave us a great tour with a lot of local knowledge. She pointed out wildlife and interesting plants and trees on the lakes edge. Everyone had a good time.

Highlight of Franz Josef trip - The lake is only a short ride from Franz Josef. We were spoiled,as we were the only clients, and got a personal tour. The lake was lovely but the highlight was the wilderness walk. Definitely worth the extra. The guide, Nicole was really enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We were given wet weather gear and walking poles. It felt safe, although steep in places.

Peaceful evening glide across the lake - Great guides on this tour. Make you feel safe in the kayaks and give lots of encouragement. They take the photos so you can just enjoy the scenery. Good fun!

A such beautiful scenery - a must do 🤩 - The lake was very calm and absolutely stunning scenery. Joe and Rosie, our guides, were very knowledgeable and pointed out the wildlife to see, telling us all about the lake and glacier area. We were part of a big group, so had three separate trips and everyone had a wonderful trip. Would thoroughly recommend
