• Piazzale Montelungo - Begin your adventure through the breathtaking Tuscan hills without delay! Meet the tour guide at Piazzale Montelungo Bus Terminal early in the morning. This location is conveniently situated just a 5-10 minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station. Board the comfortable coach bus, select your seat, and unwind before setting off on your journey! The drive to Monteriggioni will take approximately one hour. During the trip, the guide will share fascinating insights about Tuscany and its attractions along the way. Upon arrival, the knowledgeable guide will provide intriguing information and entertaining stories about Monteriggioni! Should you have any questions, the guide will be available to assist you.
• Monteriggioni - After a 40-minute bus ride, arrive at Monteriggioni, a delightful medieval fortress perched on a hill. Enjoy 45 minutes of free time to explore the village squares and absorb its timeless charm. Guests may also opt to walk along the fortress walls (optional, additional cost).
• Siena - Proceed to Siena, one of Tuscany’s most picturesque historic cities. Guests who choose the Classic Tour option will enjoy a 1-hour guided walking tour with a professional guide, highlighting the city’s main attractions (exterior visits only). Guests with the Semi-Independent option will have around 2.5 hours of free time to discover Siena at their leisure.
• Piazza del Campo - During the guided tour, admire Piazza del Campo from the outside, one of Europe’s most beautiful medieval squares. The guide will explain its distinctive shell shape and its significance as the venue for the famous Palio horse race, as well as the exterior of the Palazzo Pubblico and the Torre del Mangia.
• Duomo di Siena - The final stop in Siena is the Siena Cathedral, admired from the outside. Discover this magnificent example of Italian Gothic architecture, celebrated for its elaborate marble façade.
• San Gimignano - After lunch, continue to San Gimignano, the medieval town renowned for its tower-filled skyline. Enjoy free time to wander its cobblestone streets, explore local shops, or relax with a coffee in one of the charming squares.
• Collegiata di Santa Maria Assunta - Duomo di San Gimignano - During your free time, you may choose to visit the Collegiata, the town’s main church, known for its well-preserved frescoes and Romanesque architecture (entrance optional).
• Gelateria Dondoli - During your free time in San Gimignano, consider stopping at the famous Gelateria Dondoli, an award-winning gelato shop located in the main square. This is a wonderful opportunity to sample some of Italy’s most celebrated artisanal gelato (not included in the tour price).
• Castellina In Chianti - Conclude the day at a charming wine estate in the heart of the Chianti region. Here, a wine host will guide you through a tasting of three Chianti wines, accompanied by light snacks, offering a perfect taste of the Tuscan countryside.
