Amazing guided tour through the history of significant scientific discoveries - This museum is amazing, but it’s even better with a guide! We were so happy to meet our guide, who explained the sun dial out front and then took us in and walked us through so many amazing artifacts - from astrolabs to batteries and everything in between. He really helped connect the devices to their proper time, place and use. If you are interested in science, this is an incredible collection, and our guide was integral to our experience.

Expert guide makes science come alive - Cortina is exceptionally gifted as a guide. She patiently answered our questions and shared her vast knowledge about Florence. She was caring and very competent. I would highly recommend this museum as a guided tour so you get the historical context for the scientific discoveries.

The Science of the Renaissance - Our tour guide was so knowledgeable about tying the science and technology of Galileo and other scientists withe the other art and sculpture that we had already seen. We gained a new perspective on a different area of the Medici Family and their influence.

Galileo Museum Tour - This was one of the best museum tours of our visit to Firenze! We had our personable, engaging and knowledgeable guide Leonardo all to ourselves and learned so much! After a few days in Firenze, we understood the Medici patronage of the arts but this tour helped us understand the lasting legacy of their patronage of the sciences. Full of intriguing instruments that Leonardo brought alive for us through historical context. This museum tour should not be missed!

Great tour but finished too abruptly. - The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful, and tailored the tour well for us. However, we were a little disappointed when an announcement was made that the museum was closing about 90 minutes after we arrived. This was outside the control of the guide but it would have been good to go back through the museum on our own after the guided tour had finished.

Science, Discovery, and Galileo - The museum is an extensive collection of instruments of all kinds and for science and geography geeks is awesome. Our guide was an art history major (not a critique) and thus not as versed in the tools and their usage as, say a science major might be.
